TO CRASH INTO HEAVEN

CRASH HEAVEN

HERE’S A SEARCHING QUESTION?

“If you were to die tonight, and “St Peter” or “Elijah” or “Mohamed” was at the “Pearly Gates of Heaven” and asked you, ’Why should God let you into His Kingdom?’ – what would you say?”
   1) What would your own personal answer be?
   2) What do you think the answer would be from a true believing Christian

THE MOST COMMON RESPONSES ARE:

     a) I am not perfect, but in all honesty, I think I’m a good person.
    b) I sincerely try to keep the 10 commandments,
    c) I always try to do my best ( – although I sometimes fail)
    d) I know I am a good person ( – and at least better than one of my neighbors !)

The answers assume that if a person rates high enough on a divine “scale of goodness”, then that person SHOULD get into “heaven” based on their performance (or merit). The answers from people in other religions have a lot in common with these same answers.

FAITH AND SOCIALISM

ECONOMIC STRUCTURAL DISORDER

There are profound problems with our economic system – a structural disorder of the system itself. We need a critical analysis of the essential dignity of human labor and its priority over the maximization of profits—not just through handouts. Cosmetic changes are not enough.

We need to look at the humanizing role of labor and the equitable distribution of the world’s goods. We need to look at the full value and meaning of work.

FAITH AND SOCIALISM

We have an economy that continues to serve the needs of the rich nations at the expense of the poor. This is not to be considered an antagonism toward the rich, but the defense of the defenseless: the uneducated, the native poor and the immigrant poor who have no voice to speak for themselves.

FAITH AND SOCIALISM

Do we run a risk that some of the economically oppressed nations of the world will rise in judgment on the rich nations?

WHERE DID IT ALL GO WRONG?

OUR LIFE IN HEAVEN

OUR LIFE IN HEAVENA NEW LIFE IN HEAVEN

We tend to look at the resurrected life in heaven as a great mystery. Yet, the resurrected life is to be found in the present moment.

When the fetus leaves the womb, we call this birth. Once born into the world, the child is more fully alive in new way of living. In the same way, it would make no sense for people of this world not to be born into eternity. The swift aging of our bodies tells us that our hold on earthly life is short.  Our bodies speak to us about impermanence. This tells us that we may not be really at home in this world: our destiny lies elsewhere.

Perhaps the most powerful image of transformation in nature is the butterfly, which is really a transformed caterpillar. Caterpillars appear to have a fairly pleasant life feasting on an almost inexhaustible salad bar right under their feet. One day the caterpillar spins a web around itself. Slowly a change takes place. Suddenly, the tomb-like cocoon opens to reveal a creature that has been totally transformed. The butterfly actually looks quite beautiful. Now instead of only a view from the surface of the leaves, the butterfly sees the entire garden.

GOD: THE TREMENDOUS LOVER 2

GOD’S LOVE FOR HIS PEOPLE

God does not love us if we change; God loves us so that we can change. Only love effects true inner transformation, not duress, guilt or social pressure. Only love effects true inner transformation.

Jesus on earth constituted one new man joining heaven and earth. God, the Tremendous Lover, Himself said: “I have loved thee with an everlasting love.”                                                                          Jeremiah 31:3                                                                                                                                                           God pours Himself into us so that we may be one entity, as a body joined to a head: for this is the very desire and longing for ardent lovers. There is nothing God will not do for a loving confident faith.

Very often our own ideas are quite wrong; we are thinking of great works for God, but God is thinking of great love from us. An instant of pure love is more precious in the sight of God than all your good works.

GOD'S LOVE

LOVE (GOD) loves you!

BUILT TO FAIL 2

IT WAS BUILT TO FAIL

John Paul II was congratulated for the fall of Communism. He replied “Getting rid of that Mickey Mouse system was no miracle. It was a matter of time. It was built to fail.”

The Soviets had a large army, more nuclear weapons even than the United States, a ruthless police system and dictatorial state apparatus, compliant satellites in Eastern and Central Europe, outposts in Cuba, Africa, Asia, and Central America. And yet, all that was as dust, as time passed, and its incompatibility with human and divine things brought it down.

At present, an aggressive, ideological secularism has taken hold of America, and appears likely to become the shape of the West indefinitely – a slow-motion advance towards another inhuman socialism. So it’s good to recall why such systems are, probably in the short rather than long term, “built to fail.”

BUILT TO FAIL

  • Without a belief in human dignity as rooted in the Creator, as our Declaration of Independence proclaims, there’s no rational basis for a free society except a limp “live and let live” mentality, which will fail the moment one group or person is powerful enough to say, live this way – or die as can now be seen in North Korea.
  • This can be seen in advanced democratic societies with the rise of an authoritarian regime of rights – some absurd and new like “marriage equality” and bathroom regulations – that denies not only history, reason, religion, and biology, but mere common sense.
  • The militant secularists have no simple direction or moral arc like the failure of “scientific socialism”.

Systems obviously built to fail will fail because humankind is seriously ill. Make no mistake about the ultimate outcome of this war. God will provide the strongest impulse for spiritual renewal. God will be victorious. Continue reading BUILT TO FAIL 2

HEAVEN IS FOR REAL 2

WHERE WILL YOU READ ABOUT A VISION OF HEAVEN, HELL AND PURGATORY?

heaven

Here are three accounts of visions of heaven, hell and purgatory. Try to be open to these stories.  Try not to be so skeptical this time. It is very revealing and it will be to your benefit.

Heaven is for Real

A young boy emerges from life-saving surgery with remarkable stories of his visit to heaven.

Heaven Is for Real is the true story of the four-year old son of a small town Nebraska pastor who during emergency surgery slips from consciousness and enters heaven. He survives and begins talking about being able to look down and see the doctor operating and his dad praying in the waiting room. The family didn’t know what to believe but soon the evidence was clear.

Heaven is for Real Souls in Purgatory

Colton said he met his miscarried sister, whom no one had told him about, and his great grandfather who died 30 years before Colton was born, then shared impossible-to-know details about each. He describes the horse that only Jesus could ride, about how “reaaally big” God and his chair are, and how the Holy Spirit “shoots down power” from heaven to help us, and how Colton was able to pray for his father on earth . INTIMACY WITH GOD 2

PRAYER INTIMACY

INTIMACY GOD

The growth of our spiritual life depends upon the development of our friendship and intimacy with God so that we can share all our actions with Him. The goodness of God is dynamic. It leads to action; it not only fills the soul but it makes the soul love and makes it manifest its love in deeds. Christ has no more ardent desire than to see en-kindle on our souls the fire of love, with which His own Heart is consumed.

It is essential that the soul should put itself in daily contact with our Lord. We should develop the habit of talking to God frequently during the day quite informally. At all costs, we must persevere in devoting a set time to private prayer daily inflexibly. We also need to read daily in order that we may reflect daily. We can pray informally or simply talk to God. Yes, you will have distractions but you can make them the subject of your conversation with God.

GRACE THROUGH PRAYER

There is no soul which is not bound to pray, for every single grace comes to the soul through prayer:

  • A soul which is pure and beautiful must pray, or else it will lose its beauty;
  • a soul which is striving after this purity must pray, or else it will never attain it;
  • a soul which is newly converted must pray, or else it will fall again;
  • a sinful soul, plunged in sins, must pray so that it might rise again.

WHAT IS A BLESSING? 2

WHAT IS A BLESSING?When we invoke God’s blessing, we implore His divine beneficence, trusting that He will respond to our needs. He will cause situations to come together in your favor, no matter what others try to do.

The Lord said to Moses, “Bless the people of Israel with this special Blessing. Whenever (you) bless the people … in My name, I Myself will bless them.”                                                                            Numbers 6:23, 27

“May the Lord bless you
    and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you
    and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you His favor

and give you His peace.”                       Numbers 6:24-26

PRAYER POWER 2

POWER OF PRAYER

My Lord, I love you:  say it many times. God loves to hear it. Say it a thousand times a day and every morning when you rest in the Lord.  How wonderful it is for God to hear you call Him, ‘Father’.”

Vassula, since you know now how much you depend on Me your God. Will you be praying more? I love your simple words, say to Me,

I love You Lord,

I breathe for You, I smile for You,

I hope in You, I believe in You,

You are my joy, my bounce, my peace. ”                      March 8, 1988

 PRAYER POWER

Vassula writes down the messages which she receives in a stately handwriting, quite distinct from her own.  She hears, interiorly, a voice first, then , when she has to write down what she has heard, her writing changes.                                                                                                             TLIG.org

The Unceasing Prayer: “Tell Me, ‘I love you Jesus, you are my joy, my breathe, my rest, my sight, my smile,’  daughter, were you given time to think and meditate you would please Me furthermore; you will from now on seek Me in silence, love Me in absolute silence, pray in silence, enter My Spiritual World in silence”                                      May 31, 1987

Help me Father and lead me to Your pastures of repose,                 Where everlasting pure love flows                                                                       Be My Light to show me the Way;                                                                   With You, by Your side will I walk                                                                           With You illuminating me, will I talk.                                                         Father, Beloved, remain within me to have Peace,                                    To feel Your Love.                                                                                                               I will follow you in Your footprint,                                                                         With You I will remain;                                                                                      Enlighten me, love me,                                                                                                      Be with me here and forever after. Amen            September 27, 1986

My Father, lead me wherever Your will wishes me to go.                      Allow me to live in Your Light and warm my heart,                                      That it may glow,                                                                                                              Giving warmth on those who approach me.                                            Blessed be Your Name,                                                                                              For giving me all these Graces,                                                                                     In spite of my nothingness.                                                                                   Blessed be Your Name,                                                                                                 For the Good You have done to me,                                                                         And the Mercy You have shown me,                                                               Lifting me near Your Heart. Amen.                                           May 1, 1987

Understand how I work, but feel Me, let Me hear you talk to Me, remember Me; never will I let anything come before Me; I am First; polishing your soul will make it shine like gold … but have Me in mind always.”                                                                                         July 18, 1987

God would want you to concentrate more on Him. Conversing with God is Prayer.  One can make this more of a reality by speaking in terms of weandus, to show that one is united to God daily: “we are one.”  When you have a coffee, you have coffee for two. It is always “we” or “us” who are having coffee.

“Remember My Presence; do you know how much I desire this meditation upon My Presence? My Presence is also a very important Mystery that most of you seem to forget; meditate on My Presence; children, whom I love with an everlasting love, please Me by remembering My actual Presence; train yourselves by using these words, we, us, you and I, I and you, us; include Me in your activities, in your discussions and in your thoughts; respect My Presence, never forgetting that I am the Holy One; by remembering Me, you will sin less knowing and remembering that I Am with you.”  October 24, 1988

POWER OF PRAYER

“Many of you pray; but your prayers do not reach Me; learn how to pray, let Me feel you; many prayers are spilled on earth, never reaching Me;   You mean lip-service, Lord?   Yes, I mean lip service.”                                                                                                                                             February 19, 1988 Continue reading PRAYER POWER 2

WHAT DOES SPIRITUALITY MEAN? 2

IN SEARCH OF SPIRITUALITY

We are in this world but not of this world since every day Christians say: “Our Father who art in heaven…

Spirituality mean

Even when we worship different gods, attend different schools, have different skin colors, we’re all supposed to share spirituality.

But you have a compute and Wikipedia: “Spirituality can refer to an ultimate or immaterial reality; an inner path enabling a person to discover the essence of their being; or the ‘deepest values and meanings by which people live.’”

Yes, that’s Wikipedia! It continues on to say, “Spirituality is often experienced as a source of inspiration or orientation in life. It can encompass belief in immaterial realities or experiences of the immanent or transcendent nature of the world.”

Hmm! That’s extremely broad. Maybe you should read a book on the subject.

Princeton religion scholar Leigh Schmidt wrote one called Restless Souls that charts the development of American spirituality. Rather than the “New Age” phenomenon it is sometimes misinterpreted as, spirituality is an egalitarian, pluralistic realm of experience and thought has  a unique and sometimes intellectually advanced role in American history. So, basically, Schmidt can’t (or won’t) really define spirituality, either.

We instinctively know that it’s mixed up in religion, but it’s definitely distinct from institutional religion. Can someone be religious without being spiritual? It’s completely plausible.

On the other side of the coin, you hear “I don’t go to church, but I’m very spiritual.” You may get called spiritual once in a while without understanding what it means. People can use spirituality as a buffer. Relying on ambiguity can be risky. Continue reading WHAT DOES SPIRITUALITY MEAN? 2
