PRIESTS HAVE HEALING POWERS

PRIESTS HEALING

Healing was essential to the ministry of Jesus because healing offered indisputable evidence that He is the Christ of God: ”Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples … these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.”                                                                                                                                         John 21:30-31

Does Jesus still perform miracles today? Do you know someone who has been healed or whose life has been transformed by a relationship with Christ? Then you have seen a modern-day miracle of Jesus. You, too, can be an eyewitness to a miracle of Christ.

All ministers, priests or religious have healing powers. Most don’t have the faith that is needed to use it. There are  two provisos: our saintly priest or religious must be born again and he must be following Jesus’ Great Commission:  (Jesus) said to them, “Go into all the world … In My name they will drive out demons; … they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”                                                                                                                                       Mark 16:15,17,18

PRIESTS HEALING

This is what happened to Father Fernando Suarez, a Filipino Catholic priest, who now performs faith healing in the Philippines and elsewhere. His missionary ministry came to Ottawa Canada from the Philippines. All his associates from his order, the Companions of the Cross, were dumbfounded by his gift of healing. He was simply following the Great Commission even though it was acted out in reverse: missionary work from the Philippines to Canada.

Healing Priest

A HEALING STORY OF A PRIEST

Here is a story from a priest who did not believe he had the power until he was confronted by a very sick lady. She asked for healing. He blessed her and ran away.

Later that week he overheard from strangers that a lady with terminal cancer was miraculously healed by another priest. In a similar way, this priest had also first run away after he blessed the individual.

Our priest friend changed his mind on the matter. He began to understand that sometimes healing occurs at the most importune of times.

Others, like this lady, were moved by the Holy Spirit to challenge this faithless priest in order to get healed. She got healed. He got his faith back. Talk about a two for one affair.Priest healing

PREPARATION: “Daily” Prayer to the Holy Spirit:

Lord, I love You. Lord, I believe in You. Lord, I trust You.

I praise you and thank you for everything just the way it is.

I ask my dearest Holy Spirit to shower upon me all Your gifts and graces:

  • Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding
  • Strength and Courage
  • Discernment and Deliverance
  • Water *and Healing
  • Direction and Perception

Make me sensitive to any divine appointment that You have aligned for me today.

Bring on all Your ministering angels –all for Your glory.

Thank you, Lord.

* My personal mission is water and electricity (the HUG).

I AM WAITING FOR YOU TO GIVE ME THE ORDER.

Many ask and keep on asking and nothing ever happens. They lowered the net, but they haven’t caught anything yet.

Self-confidence may be  empty, but humility is fertile. “But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”                                                   Luke 5:5

Those who had not caught anything until then, now, at the Lord’s voice, they caught an enormous amount of fish. Afterwards, Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.”                                                                                                                    Luke 5:10

PRIESTS HEALING

FAITH  is not FEELINGS.

Healing is a present promise of God that one appropriates by faith.

God, who can read hearts, knows intimately which of His children is best suited to be healers. God will tell them which person He wants them to go to (by divine appointment), but first they must be available.

Usually this gift of healing from God is given to those who do evangelical or missionary work and are born again. The missionary must be given the tools or gifts in order to do the necessary healing.

IF — THE BADGE OF DOUBT

A faith healer will sometimes make a simple mistake and say to the person being healed, “See if you can stoop over and bend your back”. “See if you can: that is doubt. The healing is done by faith and faith alone. No matter who you are, if you move in unbelief, you will stop the flow of God’s power.

Are there any physical signs to know you are being healed?

Father Francis MacNutt stated in his book Healing that “Some people experience the same electrical transfer of power, sometimes a like a gentle electric current, sometimes like a flow of warmth. Whatever it is, it is sometimes connected with healing. It is almost like a transfer of life”. (182)

The first way of appropriating faith is the laying on of hands by the faith healer. Immediately after prayers the healer will usually ask one to check out the healing by doing something that one was not able to do before.

DELIVERANCE

DELIVERANCE SPIRIT

If there are little sign of healing, a Prayer of Deliverance is needed in order to eliminate any obstacles.

An accompanying prayer of deliverance usually results with a feeling of a complete sense of peace. This gives assurance that God is working.

There are obstacles to healing that will need a prayer of deliverance, for example,

  • Individuals have refused to forgive others, and they are deeply ingrained in sin.
  • There may be childhood scars that need healing.

One must get to the root cause of the problem before the faith can be appropriated for healing. The Holy Spirit can show a person directly or indirectly through the lenses of others.

Deliverance does not imply possession of one’s faculties, an aspect of demonic possession. Christians are still liable to demonic influence .that comes about by an opening, e.g. entertaining ungodly or superstitious beliefs. Deliverance enables God to bring freedom from bondage, oppression, hardship, or domination by evil.

God in his wisdom has made deliverance a simple act of faith and will: “ that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth” Philippians 2:10. The SINLESS person praying for deliverance commands an evil spirit defined by its function to leave and never return without manifestation in the Name of Jesus Christ, Our Lord and go to the abyss. This command is repeated for every spirit as illustrated in the prayer below.

PRAYER DELIVERANCE

Usually 80% of the healing takes place immediately. The complete healing will take place over a reasonable short time, but this requires homework: the one being healed must praise and thank God every day or whenever he or she thinks about it until the complete healing has taken place. The prayer below is invaluable. It answers the question of how long will this healing last.

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING:

To be said daily and whenever you think about it until all the healing is complete:

Lord, I thank You and I praise you for Your healing.

or a shorter 7 word Breathe Prayer:

Lord, I thank You and praise you.

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED HOW TO BECOME A CHRISTIAN?

  • Christians don’t shout, “I am clean living!” They whisper “I was lost, but now I’m found and forgiven.”
  • Christians don’t speak of this with pride. They confess that they stumble and need Christ to be their guide.
  • Christians don’t say,” I’m strong.” They say they are trying to be strong because they are really weak and need strength.
  • Christians don’t brag of success, but they admit that they are failing and they need God to clean up the mess.
  • Christians don’t claim to be perfect. Their flaws are far too visible but God believes they are worth it.
  • Christians still feel the sting of pain and they have their share of headaches but they call upon His Name.
  • Christians are not holier than thou. They are also simple sinners who receive God’s unbelievable grace.

  Christianity on a Table Napkin:

AUTHENTIC LIFE

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.                                                                                                                                           Romans 10:9

The real Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. He was send by God to come to the earth in the body of a human being. That was so that He could suffer in the flesh, take all our sins upon Himself and die in our place. He rose from the dead and lives to pray for us daily.
He is the Saviour – The angel announced to Mary; …and you shall call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Matthew 1:21    It means He has the power to free us, save us and deliver us from sin. He is merciful and has the power to forgive. He brings good news to the poor, heals the heartbroken, announce freedom to all captives, pardons all prisoners. He comforts mourners. He has healing in His wings.
If you are not yet received Jesus as your Saviour… SAY: Lord Jesus, You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Please hear me today and help me! I want to receive you as my Lord and Saviour. Be Lord of my life!  Lord Jesus, I believe that You died for me and that God raised You from the dead. Forgive me all my sins and take all my sins away. Come into my heart and be my Saviour and Lord, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Amen

God the Father will wipe every tear from our eyes, and there shall be no more death or mourning, crying out or pain. We will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is The Holy Spirit will have made all things new. Eternal joy will have begun.  “For the Mighty One has done great things for me— holy is His name.”                                       Luke 1: 49

Are we not like Barabbas justly condemned for murder, but saved by the innocent Jesus on the cross? Are we not like the adulterous woman, deserving of death by stoning, to whom Jesus says, “I do not condemn you”?  And Jesus saved them both. In fact, Jesus came to earth specifically to look for and save those who were lost.

“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD.

“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;

though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.    Isaiah 1:18

You may need some counseling with a pastor, priest or competent Christian worker, who will introduce you to this Short Course on Who is Jesus? Start by reading the Gospel according to John: It is all about love and you will love it. Read several verses before going to bed and read the same verse upon arising. Soaking yourself in the love of God defends you from attacks of the enemy.

HEALING THE ADDICTIVE BRAIN

ADDICTION GRACEADDICTION RECOVERY

Addiction Recovery can take months and for some many years involving medication. There is a short cut that God provides in the form of Grace, which is a mysterious interweaving of divine grace and human willingness.

We may yearn to let go and let God,” but it usually doesn’t happen until we have exhausted our own efforts.

addiction grace

LOTS OF ADDICTIONS

Most people are addicted to something, be it a substance or one’s own self-concept. Anything that steals life from us and causes us to make illogical or hasty decisions is our addiction: anything we cling to instead of God. The object of the addiction, whether it is drugs or alcohol or sex are not the primary issue. Rather, it is becoming obsessed with them: a false sense of love. It includes many other areas: chocolate, food, Facebook, power, fame, pornography, even driving too fast, etc.

The truth is, we were never meant to be completely satisfied. Saint Augustine states “You have made us for Yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in You.” We give all our time and energy to the addiction, instead of love. We were created for love but we seek it apart from the Creator. Addiction, then, displaces and supplants God’s love as the source and object of our deepest true desire.

Addiction is a spiritual disease, a disease of the soul, an illness resulting from this same longing, frustrated desire, and deep dissatisfaction – which is ironically the necessary beginning of any spiritual path.”HEALING THE ADDICTIVE BRAIN

Having a personal relationship with God begins the moment we realize our need for Him, admit we are sinners, and in faith receive Jesus Christ as Savior. God, our heavenly Father, has always desired to be close to us, to have a relationship with us.

God gently and humbly waits for our invitation to enter into our emptiness, our place of deepest longing. “It is all about “God’s love (which) has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us”                                                                   Romans 5:5

ADDICTION GRACE
There have been books written about grace that imply that grace can come from any source. You cannot speak of the healing power of grace apart from Jesus, no matter what you read about New Age, Buddhism or Hinduism. It is only the grace of God through Jesus Christ that brings real transformation, despite the fact that they may continue to help your spirituality, which is not the real issue here.

THE “HOW-TO” STUFF

Just ask yourself to stop something, and if you can’t, you’ll be face to face with addiction. Then we use the Grace Toggle or Grace Switch. Grace is the most powerful force in the universe and it is where your hope lies. Grace is what draws us toward God.

Whenever we have an urge for a drink or a smoke you say this little prayer and the addictive feeling will fade away. Try this “Living Water of Grace and you will see and you will be surprised if it is from the heart.

Through Jesus Christ, a “faith healer” can heal you from any of your ailments including your addiction. You will also need to be delivered from all evil spirits influencing you, because addiction is tied to evil or to Satan.

ADDICTION GRACE

What is further required is an acknowledgement of your faith in God. It begins with this prayer of faith from the heart. Faith and healing are intertwined. The emphasis is “from the heart” otherwise it all becomes a worship disorder.

Lord Jesus, I love You! Lord Jesus, I believe in You!                    Lord Jesus,  I trust You!

To be said daily and whenever you think about it until all the healing is complete:

Lord, I thank You and I praise you for Your healing.

or a shorter 7 word Breathe Prayer:

Lord, I thank You and praise you.

This prayer is to be said upon temptation and anytime you think about it until complete healing has taken place and at a very minimum at least once a day. Actually, in recovery, only hour by hour gratitude is strong enough to overcome all temptations.

addiction grace

POWER IN PRAISE

HEALING THE ADDICTIVE BRAIN

So praise becomes the medicine, We are to praise God for everything even for our addiction which may eventually cause us to free ourselves for a committed relationship to God.

Praise God for everything???  When you are affected by conflicts and inner confusion, you finally come to a deeper consciousness of God because of these intentional struggles.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”                                                                                                             Thessalonians 5:16-18

It is also an ongoing process in which one, and with grace, grows ever more deeply in love. It is an ongoing transition from compulsively trying to control one’s life toward a trusting and openness to God.

“Bless our God, O peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard, who has kept us among the living, and has not let our feet slip. For You, O God, have tested us; You have tried us as silver is tried. You brought us into the net; You laid burdens on our backs; You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; yet You have brought us out to a spacious place.” (freeing us from attachments).                                                                            Psalm 66:8-12

ADDICTION GRACE

TRUST IS THE BASIS OF LIFE.

Without trust, no human being can live. Trapeze artists offer a beautiful image of this. Fliers have to trust their catchers. They can do the most spectacular doubles, triples, or quadruples, but what finally makes their performance spectacular are the catchers who are there for them at the right time in the right place.

Much of our lives is flying. It is wonderful to fly in the air free as a bird, but when God isn’t there to catch us, all our flying comes to nothing. Let’s trust in the Great Catcher.                                                                Henri Nouwen

A ”faith healer” is one who has been baptized in the Holy Spirit (born again) and has received the Gift of Healing.  He or she is sinless and often are involved with missionary work. God knows that healing is an effective way that missionaries need to introduce or strengthen Christianity. Check out the following links:

GOD’S HEALING ASSURED

HEALING FROM GOD’S MERCY

healing wounds stripes

The Living God exercised compassion when He decided to bless all mankind by entering into the Everlasting (blood) covenant with Abraham. God in His mercy has decreed blessing for us by sending Christ to take the curse of disease and sickness from us and bring healing.

“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”                                                                                  1 Peter 2:24

These are the exact words that a Divine Healer say when they lay hands on someone for healing: IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST AND BY HIS WOUNDS, YOU (NAME) ARE HEALED OF (AFFLICTION).  This is assured for any affliction even cancer and any addiction.  The spirit world knows no limitation: long distance healing is also assured.

This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:“He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.”                                                                                                                                              Matthew 8:17   That doesn’t necessarily mean that all enjoy that blessing. First, the blessing is for those who are in covenant with Him.

Jesus used the authority of the Father given to Christ over heaven and earth Matthew. 28:18, to “pray over” James 5:14 the sick and command the enemy to go. “Whatever you ask in My Name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”If you ask Me anything in My Name, I will do it.”                                           John 14:14

MERCY HEALING

Some Christians pray for healing as if asking for a favor from God. In seeking healing we are not to ask God for a favor; instead, we are to glorify the Father by expecting the justice due us as a result of Christ’s awesome work for us… And we will receive it. Quit begging. Quit asking for a favor – expect God’s mercy.

ST. FAUSTINA

Words of Jesus to St. Faustina:I have opened My Heart as a living fountain of mercy. Let all souls draw life from it. Let them approach this sea of mercy with great trust. Sinners will attain justification, and the just will be confirmed in good“.                                      Diary 1520

Healing Mercy

Faith or Physician?

The justification for relying on faith healing over conventional medicine comes from a belief that turning to man is diametrically opposed to turning to God. In other words, you can either turn to God for help, or you can turn to man for help – but not both. “It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.”Psalm 118:8

Jesus Christ said, “Those who are well do not need a physician, but those who are sick” Luke 5:31 Christ doesn’t give so much as a hint at disapproval of physicians.

God wants us to examine any health problem and make wise decisions, while looking to Him to lead and guide us in those decisions. That is what God expects us to do in all aspects of this life “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”.                                                                                              Proverbs 3:5-6

In any decision of any consequence we have to make, it should be our way of life and our habit to go to God for help and wisdom — and this applies when seeking medical attention or health advice for illness as well as in any other aspect of life.

When we submit ourselves to Christ, the heart is united with His heart, the will is merged in His will, the mind becomes one with His mind, the thoughts are brought into captivity to Him; we live His life. This is what it means to be “clothed with the garment of His righteousness”.                                                                                   Isaiah 61:10

Ten Scripture Verses On Healing

Healing Authority

Romans 10 tells us that faith comes from hearing and hearing from the word of Christ. To help us believe God for healing ourselves, our friends and our families it helps to have a good grasp of the Scriptures concerning healing. The following Scriptures are condensed enough to be written on a folded bit of paper, carried around and re-read.

GOD'S HEALING

  1. If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.                                                                                                                  2 Chronicles 7:14
  2. O LORD my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me.                                                                                                                                                     Psalms 30:2
  3.  Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His                           holy Name!                                                                                                                Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:                        Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,                  Who redeems your life from destruction,                                                              Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies.                                                                                                                                        Psalms 103:1-4
  4. He heals the broken-hearted And binds up their wounds.                                                                                                                                             Psalms 147: 3
  5. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.                                                                         Isaiah 53:5
  6. The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me: To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound.                                                                                                                         Isaiah 61:1
  7. And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.                                               Matthew 10:1
  8. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.                                      Matthew 10:8
  9.  And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God.                                                        Luke 17:15
  10. And He said to her, “…your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”                                                                                                                                     Luke 8:48

WHAT IS THE HOLY CALL?

The call of the gospel is a holy call.

This is said to be given us before the world began, that is, in the purpose of God from all eternity: “He has saved us and called us to a HOLY CALL—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time”                                                     2 Timothy 1:10

Embraced by the Call

HOLY CALL

“For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to                    strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.                                                                                                                                 2 Chronicles 16:9

Worship is a life of obedience.

“Away with your hymns of praise! …I want to see a mighty flood of justice,  a river of righteous living that will never run dry.”                                                                                                                                              Amos 5: 23,24

God wants more than praise! God doesn’t say to be just  obedient, but rather to be willing and  obedient. “If you are willing and obedient you will eat the good things of the land.”           Isaiah 1:19

God has a particular will for our lives, each of us. He wants to be involved with us in our day-to-day stuff. There are various decisions of some significance that we must make. God has a will for each of these. We have to consult Him to find out what He wants. He’s a very good communicator and very capable of getting His will across to us. Yet, God will never ask us to do anything unless we ourselves want to do it.

Quite often He will lead us in directions, which eventually appear completely opposite of logic.”  We must choose to obey even when we don’t understand: we’ll see His promise fulfilled in a way outside our understanding. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;  in all your ways submit to him,  and he will make your paths straight.”                                Proverbs 3:5-6

In the end, the will of God is the only thing that’s worth doing. It’s the only thing that ultimately works anyway. Why should we waste our time and energy fighting it?

“To everyone who has, more will be given,

but as for the one who has nothing, even what they have will be taken away.”                                                                                                  Luke 19:26

Paul expresses great affection for 2 Timothy 1 (1-5)  and exhorts him to improve his spiritual gifts. (6-14) God has not given us the spirit of fear, but the spirit of power, of courage and resolution, to meet difficulties and dangers; the spirit of love to Him, which will carry us through opposition. And the spirit of a sound mind and quietness of mind.

Paul exhorts Timothy to hold fast the Holy Scriptures:  we must not think to keep it by our own strength, but by the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in us,  2 Timothy 1:14 and it will not be gained by those who “trust in their own hearts, and not to lean on their own understanding”                                                                                   Proverbs 3:5.

Remember the parable of the multiplication of one’s talents in Luke 19:12-27. The good and faithful servant receives two fold, fivefold or tenfold as determined by the use of his own talents.

Jesus gives us a creative and active vision of life: no place for laziness, for non-concern, for lack of commitment, for passivity. We are not to hide our light under a bushel basket.

We must show our Light in the darkest places:

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”                                                                                                                               Matthew 5:14-16

To let this power lie dormant within us is indeed unpardonable.

Jesus said that the same power that was in Him could be in us: “I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”    Luke 24:49 He stated that we should do the works that He did: “whoever believes in Me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these”                                                      John 14:12

He told us that we should go into all the world, and not only preach the gospel , but show forth the power of the gospel by healing: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”                                                                                                                                Mark 16: 15-18

When you know that you are on an assignment for God, He will preserve you so that you learn to have confidence in Him. You will not want to do anything without the hand of the Lord hovering over you.

When you look back over your life, you are able to see the fingerprints of God all along the way. You can see how God preserved you when you weren’t even paying attention. He was working out an assignment through his manifold wisdom.

“I will build My Church

(the Greek word is ekklesia [assembly]), and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it!”, said Jesus.                                               Matthew 16:18

God wants your permission to do what He wants to do. He doesn’t want any of your fancy ideas. He doesn’t want anything going; He wants to do is Himself.  So we must open the door for Him and let Him move in and take over. He wants all communities to be alive — not just a few here and there.

What was His strategy in laying the foundations of His Church?  It was to make disciples.  Jesus showed them how to have a relationship with the Father, taught them the ways of God’s Kingdom, and exampled a life of holiness before them. He mentored them in ministry.

If we will focus on making disciples, He will build His Church!

The ingredient most lacking in Christian missions is humility. The Lord is seeking people who care more about Jesus Christ being exalted than they do about their own names.  Your attitude should be as that of Jesus Christ: ” Who … made Himself nothing… [and] humbled Himself.” Philippians 2:5-8 If you are stepping into a divine purpose and moving into that sphere of influence, then the sovereign hand of the Lord will come upon you for a divine assignment.  A grace will come upon you through which God will start to work in your life.

When you know you are acting as an appointed representative of God, you can be confident that God will back you up in return. Once you get that in your heart, you will realize that you do indeed have a divinely ordained assignment and that all of Heaven is behind you. You will gain supernatural boldness as you walk in the authority of Heaven.

It will seem as if the lid is lifted off as things begin to happen in your life. God wants to take us higher, but there is not the understanding right now. The Spirit of God will increasingly compel us to fast and pray and to pull our selves back so that we can dig deeper in the Word.

We should utter our prayer in the most positive words, saying in conclusion, “It shall be so”, or “Thank you Lord, Your will shall be done and Your power shall prevail and this person shall be healed.”
