UNFORGIVENESS

UNFORGIVENESS

The root cause of unforgiveness is bitterness and hatred towards the person who has offended us.

One of the hardest things in life is to let go of old hurts. We often say, or at least think: “What you did to me and my family, my ancestors, or my friends I cannot forget or forgive. … One day you will have to pay for it.” Sometimes our memories are decades, even centuries, old and keep asking for revenge.

Holding people’s faults against them often creates an impenetrable wall. But listen to Paul: “For anyone who is in Christ, there is a new creation: the old order is gone and a new being is there to see. It is all God’s work”. 2 Corinthians 5:17-18 Indeed, we cannot let go of old hurts, but God can. Paul says: “God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not holding anyone’s fault against them”.                  2 Corinthians 5:19. It is God’s work, but we are God’s ministers, because the God who reconciled the world to God entrusted to us “the message of reconciliation”. 2 Corinthians 5:19 This message calls us to let go of old hurts in the Name of God.

CASE FOR CHRIST

Who is This Jesus?

Case ChristWho is This Jesus? How Reliable is the Information about Christ?, and Can a Dead Man Come Back to Life?

Lee Strobel is a famous atheist who turned Christian when working for the Chicago Tribune. He sought to disprove God and discredit Christianity, and yet his journey brought him to faith. Yes, Strobel became a Christian while writing The Case for Christ.

This book demonstrates that Christianity is not just another religion to choose from, but a belief based on facts, history, and logic.

I believe anyone with doubts about Jesus Christ will view Him differently after reading his book. The Christian layperson will also benefit by learning answers to support her beliefs.

“You must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.”                                                                                                                                     1 Peter 3:15-16

Case Christ

Strobel defends the historical reliability of the New Testament. He considers: (a) the eyewitness evidence, (b) documentary evidence, (c) corroborating evidence,

Eyewitness Evidence

When people begin religious movements, it’s often not until many generations later that people record things about them” For almost a century Christianity went unnoticed by most men and women in the Roman Empire. Non-Christians saw the Christian community as a tiny, peculiar, antisocial, sect of the lower strata of society

The books of the New Testament originally existed only as oral tradition. The disciples lived in an “oral culture, in which there was great emphasis placed on memorization”

The four gospels were in fact written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and therefore the canonical gospels are eyewitness testimony. This fact is confirmed by Papias (writing circa CE 125) and Irenaeus (writing circa 180); the authorship of the gospels was never in doubt among early Christians. If this claim were false, hostile witnesses would have happily shouted that fact from the mountaintops.

Documentary Evidence:

We have far more ancient copies of the New Testament than we have of, say, Homer’s Iliador Tacitus’s Annals of Imperial Rome.

The early church adopted three criteria in evaluating documents for inclusion in the New Testament:

(i) Was the book written by an apostle or by a follower of an apostle?
(ii) Did the book conform to what Christians already believed?
(iii) Had the book been continuously accepted and used by the church at large?

These criteria may have been “loaded from the outset, like dice that are weighted so they yield the result that was desired all along” Does that not speak of the direction from the Holy Spirit.

God has commanded us to not change His Word. As He is the author, He holds the eternal copyright. He allows us, nay, commands us, to copy and spread His Word to the entire world. However, He strictly forbids the addition or removal of anything from His Word.

“Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you.”                                                                                                                                 Deuteronomy 4:2

I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. 19 And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.”                                                   Revelation 22:18, 19

Corroborating Evidence:

The references  of Josephus, a historian of Jesus’ day, corroborate the independent confirmation of the historicity of Jesus. Continue reading CASE FOR CHRIST

HIDDEN UNFORGIVENESS

UNFORGIVENESS
UNFORGIVENESS

Ask the Holy Spirit to bring to mind anyone whom you need to forgive. Respond to His prompting and specifically name each person. Remember, the ones that you find hardest to forgive are the ones you most need to forgive. You can use these words:

I forgive all who have harmed me or wronged me in the past. In particular, I forgive (name those who you need to forgive). It is done in heaven.

Forgiveness is a decision. It is not an emotion. Yet, psychologically, you may still find it difficult to forgive someone who really harmed you. This is when you take it upon yourself to pray a short prayer for that person including the above prayer every day for ten days. It will also be done in your mind.

Why is the important? God offers to forgive your ten million dollar debt to Him if you forgive a ten thousand dollar debt for someone is owed you. If you persist in holding on to this debt, God will hold onto yours. It becomes merely enlightened self-interest.

And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”                                                                                                                                                  Mark 11:25

A BETTER LIFE

 A BETTER LIFE
Better Life

The mission of the Church is to offer people a better life. Yet, organizations like churches tend to become preoccupied with day to day problems and pressures.

If you went to an ice cream store and there was no ice cream, there is a problem. A local church community can go year after year with almost no outreach to the “unchurched” in their area and yet think there is no problem. Let me tell you, there is a problem. It may be simply that Christians are not excited about sharing our good news that knowing and following Christ is the best way to live.

In the early days, the Church was unstoppable; they followed a simple strategy. They were courageous in telling their story and they made people feel welcome in their community. They invited people to their outreach events for lack of a proper word. They received help from the Holy Spirit.

But why hasn’t the Glory of the Holy Spirit visited charismatic churches in a big way?

But why hasn’t the Glory of the Holy Spirit visited charismatic churches in a big way?

The Holy Spirit showers His disciples with numerous gifts including the gift of healing and the power to deliver away evil spirits. He is as active today as He was 2000 years ago. He provides the necessary tools to disciples who are missionary-oriented. This was part of Jesus’ marching orders:

He (Jesus) said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons...they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”                                                                                       Mark 16:  15-18

JESUS: LUNATIC OR GOD

ONLY TWO CHOICES:Jesus lunatic truth

JESUS:  LUNATIC OR GOD

Yes, Jesus is and was the purest and noblest character known in history.  Please don’t come up with any patronizing nonsense about His being only a great moral teacher. He did not leave any other option: either His claim to be God is true or false. If He was a liar or a lunatic then he was also a hypocrite because he told others to be honest, whatever the cost.

There are only two choices: you can erroneously shut Him up as a fool and a liar or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. The discrepancy between the depth and sanity of His moral teaching and these rampant megalomania claims (unless He is indeed God) has never been satisfactorily explained.

JESUS LUNATIC GOD

A simple record of three short years of His active life has done more to regenerate and soften mankind than all the philosophers and all the moralists.

He always returned the wisest answers to tempting questions and He deliberately predicted His death on the cross and His resurrection on the third day – even the destruction of Jerusalem (70 AD)

The Old Testament contains 108 distinct prophecies that foretell the coming of one called “Messiah”, the Anointed One, and provides details about how and when He would arrive—even His birth in Bethlehem. The odds of just eight of these prophecies being accidentally fulfilled would be phenomenal. The New Testament proclaims that Jesus is the Messiah.

Does anyone else appear in history like Jesus? Only Jesus fulfilled the characteristics of the Messiah as described in the Old Testament. If Jesus is not the Messiah then no one will ever be and the bible is wrong. Yet, the New Testament documents are historically correct: they were written too early for legend to have polluted the accounts.

This is probably the most amazing miracle of the entire Bible — the eternal Son of God, himself fully God, became fully man and in doing so joined himself to a human nature forever. Jesus, a man unlike anyone else the world will ever see again, by eternally bringing together both the infinite and the finite, changed the course of history forever.

Jesus is the only one who says, “I am God. I am holy. I am the only way to a truthful life.” No one, not Mohammad, not Buddha say this. Not anyone other than Jesus says that they faced the devil face to face and won.

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”                                                        John 1:14

God is writing your love story: let Him read it to you. Believe what God says about you: Beautiful, Loved, Redeemed, Forgiven, Righteous, Victorious and Purposed.

FORGIVENESS DELIVERANCE

WE ARE ALL IN NEED OF FORGIVENESS.

Untitled-3

Forgiveness is to our best interest because God said he can only forgive us only when we forgive others. “Forgive, and you will be forgiven,” Luke 6:37. “When you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins,” Mark 11:25. God lifts the penalty for the unforgiveness.  Favor comes from God when forgiveness is applied.

FORGIVENESS DELIVERANCE

This can be solved by a prayer  of deliverance. Whatever has you in bondage can be broken by the power of the almighty God in the Name of Jesus.

WHAT IS DELIVERANCE?

UNFORGIVENESS

Deliverance is defined as “a rescue from bondage or danger.” Deliverance is often sought from evil spirits or the spirit of lust, jealousy, etc. We are told to “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith.”                                                                                                                                                  1 Peter 5:8,9

All aspects of deliverance are available only through the person and work of Jesus Christ:” When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, ‘Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!’”                                                                              Luke 10:17

 DO YOU NEED DELIVERANCE?

To determine if you are in need of deliverance, ask yourself the following questions: Continue reading FORGIVENESS DELIVERANCE
