The scourge of crystal meth, with its exploding labs and ruinous effect on teeth and skin, has been all but forgotten amid national concern over the opioid crisisMeth has returned with a vengeance. In Oregon, meth-related deaths vastly outnumber those from heroin.

Mexican drug cartels stepped in and have inundated the market with so much pure, low-cost meth that dealers have more of it than they know what to do with. Under pressure from traffickers to unload large quantities, dealers are even offering meth to customers on credit. 

Heroin is a depressant. It shuts you down and you’re not capable of doing a whole lot. In contrast, meth is a stimulant: addicts have lowered inhibitions and are awake 24/7, running around at night, so night burglaries abound. Eighty or 90 percent of heroin users are also using meth to temper the effects.

Like opioids, meth is highly addictive and difficult to quit. Meth has been overshadowed by opiates. Unfortunately, there are fewer tools to combat meth than to combat opioids: There is nothing like Naloxone, which can reverse opioid overdoses, or methadone, which can stem opioid cravings.

Meth or methamphetamine use is plausibly responsible for as many if not more drug-related crimes, episodes of violence, and trips to the emergency room than any other substance (discounting all of our daily opiate overdoses)

Meth first overloads and then eventually disables the dopamine system in the brain, which is not good. Meth exacerbates any pre-existing psychosis or induces psychosis altogether. Frequent users often report they hear voices, see “shadow figures,” experience severe paranoia, and endorse full-blown psychotic delusions. When you couple these sorts of psychotic symptoms with frequently hyper-aggressive and/or hyper-sexual behavior while intoxicated, you have a real public health problem. Addicts become semi-aware fragments of themselves, arousing and satisfying their darker impulses.

Meth kills by overloading blood vessels, eventually resulting in aneurysms, heart failure and strokes. As a result, long time older users are likeliest to die—in San Francisco, the average age of those who die of a meth overdose is 49.

ADHD HEALED

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, ADHD is a chronic condition marked by persistent inattention, hyperactivity, and sometimes impulsivity. ADHD begins in childhood and often lasts into adulthood. As many as two out of every three children with ADHD continue to have symptoms as adults. The number of children getting diagnosed and treated for ADHD has risen over time. The most common type involves both a mix of inattentive symptoms and hyperactive-impulsive symptoms.

Children with ADHD also may struggle with low self-esteem, troubled relationships and poor performance in school. 

INATTENTION

A child who shows a pattern of inattention may often:

  • Fail to pay close attention to details or make careless mistakes in schoolwork
  • Have trouble staying focused in tasks or play
  • Appear not to listen, even when spoken to directly
  • Have difficulty following through on instructions and fail to finish schoolwork or chores
  • Have trouble organizing tasks and activities
  • Avoid or dislike tasks that require focused mental effort, such as homework
  • Lose items needed for tasks or activities, for example, toys, school assignments, pencils
  • Be easily distracted
  • Forget to do some daily activities, such as forgetting to do chores

HYPERACTIVITY AND IMPULSIVITY

A child who shows a pattern of hyperactive and impulsive symptoms may often:

  • Fidget with or tap his or her hands or feet, or squirm in the seat
  • Have difficulty staying seated in the classroom or in other situations
  • Be on the go, in constant motion
  • Run around or climb in situations when it’s not appropriate
  • Have trouble playing or doing an activity quietly
  • Talk too much
  • Blurt out answers, interrupting the questioner
  • Have difficulty waiting for his or her turn
  • Interrupt or intrude on others’ conversations, games or activities

 Children with ADHD are more likely than others to also have conditions such as:

  • Learning disabilities,including problems with understanding and communicating
  • Anxiety disorders,which may cause overwhelming worry, nervousness
  • Depression,which frequently occurs in children with ADHD
  • Disruptive mood dysregulation disorder,characterized by irritability and problems tolerating frustration
  • Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD),generally defined as a pattern of negative, defiant and hostile behavior toward authority figures
  • Conduct disorder,marked by antisocial behavior such as stealing, fighting, destroying property, and harming people or animals
  • Bipolar disorder,which includes depression as well as manic behavior
  • Tourette syndrome,a neurological disorder characterized by repetitive muscle or vocal tics

It is possible that the chronic use of sugar could cause changes in brain chemistry that may eventually lead to ADHD. Children with high-sugar diets were more likely to have disrupted sleep, most commonly breathing problems and night sweats.  Unfortunately, ADHD  can’t be corrected simply by removing sugar from the diet in short-term studies.

Children with ADHD are about twice as likely to be overweight or obese and vice versa. Many foods are very high in sugars, which are strongly associated with high insulin levels and inflammation, which is not obvious, but is present throughout the body.  This inflammation can only be detected by special blood tests in research labs. 

Researchers noted “improved behavior and focus” among children with epilepsy who tried the keto diet.  A decrease in carbohydrates may lessen the symptoms of ADHD.

The ketogenic diet was originally introduced in 1920. Studies suggest that there are definite short-term benefits of a high-fat ketogenic diet. Sugar and highly refined foods are killing us! It is estimated that in the United States alone approximately 300,000 people die each year from obesity-related diseases.

It has been found that a sugary diet is the root cause of various chronic diseases of the body and it accelerates aging. This is cause be a reduction of the amount of antioxidants in the body. Sugar consumption is positively associated with cancer:  tumors are known to be enormous sugar absorbers.

While the keto diet is touted for its fat-burning effects, there’s growing evidence that it can help a range of diseases, including migraine headaches, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Epilepsy Autism and Depression.

 Most people don’t have the time, money or energy for lengthy diet and training routines. That’s where ketosis came into play: turning your body from storing fat to burning it.

Here is a simple explanation: 

I have had a little five pound pouch that I have been carrying for a few years. I am an avid swimmer; I swim five times a week for a distance of one kilometer (40 lengths x 25 meters).

Most people are addicted to something, be it a substance or one’s own self-concept. Anything that steals life from us and causes us to make illogical or hasty decisions is our addiction: anything we cling to instead of God. The object of the addiction, whether it is drugs or alcohol or sex are not the primary issue. Rather, it is becoming obsessed with them: a false sense of love. It includes many other areas: chocolate, food, Facebook, power, fame, pornography, even driving too fast, etc.

The truth is, we were never meant to be completely satisfied. Saint Augustine states “You have made us for Yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in You.” We give all our time and energy to the addiction, instead of love. We were created for love but we seek it apart from the Creator. Addiction, then, displaces and supplants God’s love as the source and object of our deepest true desire.

DELIVERANCE FROM ADDICTION ASSURED

FREEDOM

Freedom is the corner stone of all great nations. It is an essential human right. Self-discipline is the foundation of freedom.The complete opposite is the feeling good thinking: “If it feels good, do it.”

ADDICTION

Addiction robs us of self-discipline, freedom and our own dignity. Of course, this leads to slavery to alcohol, drugs, food, pornography, gambling, sex, violence and shopping. These addiction attacks take over our bodies, but also our minds, hearts, spirits and check books. Those who are paralyzed by addiction follow sheepishly wherever the flock leads. Addiction clouds our judgment and causes us to lose sight of our essential purpose in life.

Aldous Huxley said, “Addiction is an increasing desire for an act which gives less and less satisfaction.” Quite the opposite is a person who is free: he or she is quietly confident and peaceful with all manner of positive thoughts.

An addict needs a strategy to solve the problem. The Alcoholics Anonymous has 12 steps that have been successful, but there is a missing ingredient: EVIL INFLUENCE.

One can be laden with all sorts of addiction. These include: alcohol, cigarettes, masturbation just to add a few. This addiction must be dealt with on a spiritual level. Casting out demons is the only way to get rid of these demons that drive the person to do these things in the first place. The demons will hook themselves to a person’s flesh and mind. Deliverance WILL be needed.

WHAT IS DELIVERANCE?

Deliverance is defined as “a rescue from bondage or danger.” Deliverance is often sought from evil spirits or the spirit of lust, jealousy, etc. We are told to “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith.”                                                                                                                                                  1 Peter 5:8,9

All aspects of deliverance are available only through the person and work of Jesus Christ:” When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, ‘Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!’”                                                                              Luke 10:17

 DO YOU NEED DELIVERANCE?

To determine if you are in need of deliverance, ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Are you continually argumentative or contrary–usually on the verge of anger?
  2.  Are you violating, neglecting or causing pain in a relationship?
  3.  Are you practicing sin and can’t seem to stop?
  4. Do you see a pattern of issues in your family, whether disease, poverty, anger, divorce, sexual perversion or other issues?
  5. You are sick all the time and the doctors find nothing wrong. You could be dealing with a spirit of infirmity?
  6. Are you having “spiritual” encounters, including recurring  dreams/nightmares that you leave you fearful?
  7. Do you sometimes sense that the problem isn’t you, but rather something in you?
  8. Are you attracted  to the occult. , e.g. Ouija Boards, Seance, Fortune Telling, Horoscopes, Hypnosis etc, or Witchcraft?
  9. Have you experienced traumatic events that have impacted your life negatively?
  10.  Do you keep hitting the same wall.

One minister of healing had a record of 70% recovery of drug addiction, compared to 5% by the public health system, simply by this form of healing ministry. We are dealing with desperate people who need help right now; they don’t want a sermon about the hereafter. What willpower cannot accomplish, Christ’s healing power can and does.

The Bible talks about the flesh, also known as the “Old Man”: the part of the person that is rebellious and wants to do its own will rather than the will of God and is open to be influenced by the Devil. “Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walk about, seeking whom he may devour.”                            1 Peter 5:8.

“For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.”                                                                                                        1 John 2:16

Ask the Lord what caused this addiction. This will help you to solve the mystery of this problem. Addiction often has its origin

The work of demonic powers is often present in cases of addiction. Our struggle is with evil powers. Drugs and alcohol are a demonic doorway to the supernatural world. When you use it, you enter a dark world of destruction, depression, anxiety, confusion, and restlessness.

The demons will hook themselves to a person’s flesh and mind. Deliverance WILL be needed.

The smoker opens the door to the spirit of self destruction and commits “slow-suicide”. The heart and blood are affected. The eyes and nasal passages are inflamed and burned. The respiratory system easily falls prey to emphysema and asthma. Tobacco, nicotine and smoking attack and break down immune systems so cancers can develop unrestricted. Common to smokers are lung cancer, throat cancer and lip cancer.

We are responsible to God for the care of our body.  We are held responsible by God, for the care and use of our physical body. states: “What? Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own. “                                                                            1 Corinthians 6:19

We open ourselves to our physical destruction: “If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.”                1 Corinthians 3:17
