So why do some believers stay sick even after healing ministry. These healing obstacles can be easily overcome. Let us begin at the beginning.
Peter’s words of healing quoted Isaiah, “by His stripes, you have been healed.” 1 Peter 2:24 We know that Peter summed up the whole life of Jesus by saying that He went about “healing all who were oppressed by the devil” Acts 10:38 The Scripture also says that Christ came “to destroy the works of the devil’ 1 John 3:8, not to destroy the works of His Father.
The Scripture repeats that “there is no partiality with God”. Romans 2:11; Ephesians 6:9 Christ never talked about cancer being good for one person while He healed another. The Scripture says that Christ healed all who came to Him – no exceptions.
Isn’t it so freeing to know that we don’t need to plead with God or cajole or convince Him to heal us? On the contrary, since we are the righteousness of God in Christ 2 Corinthians 5:21, we are healed on the basis of His mighty mercy and justice.
In fact, in His parting words, Jesus stated clearly that this authority over disease and demons is a tell-tale sign of all those who follow Him. Mark 16:17-18
There are four reasons, and they are similar to the reasons why some who hear the Gospel of salvation do not receive it or cannot hold onto it:
- Unbelief and the Failure to Persevere– An individual can experience a glorious deliverance at the hands of the Lord and twenty-four hours later seriously wonder whether he imagined it all. Christ was quite clear: “it shall be done [for us] according to our faith” Matthew 9:29
- The Lie of Unworthiness; The Absence of Expectation of God–We just cannot bring ourselves to believe, given what we know we have done in the past, that a holy God could love us enough to forgive us everything and heal us simply as a gift! We think that we do not deserve to be healed, and so, unfortunately, we reject His healing and are not healed. . This thinking can cause us to believe that our sin is too great for Christ’s mercy.
