OVERCOMING FEAR

YOUNG AND RESTLESS

When you are young, you feel invincible. Life stretches before you without limits. Then you grow up and you take on more responsibilities. You have to be more ready for eventualities that require things like insurance and savings.

You start to see life as increasingly fragile and you begin to hedge your bets. Before you would just “go for it”, but now your look for the safe ground.

Then events begin to unravel around you, like the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack. The world’s only super power had been brought to its knees by a handful of terrorists with box cutters.

THE POWER OF FEAR

President Roosevelt spoke about fear itself in 1933: nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror that paralyzes us. He said,” the only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”

David captured the immobilization of that fear:

“I will watch my ways
    and keep my tongue from sin;
I will put a muzzle on my mouth

while in the presence of the wicked.”
So I remained utterly silent,
    not even saying anything good.
But my anguish increased.”
Psalm 39:1-2

When we are threatened, fear clouds our judgment and can impede us from doing the right thing.

LIFE IS SHORT.

“Surely every man at his best is a mere breath.” Psalm 39:5 And we “make an uproar over nothing” orin vain we rush about”  Psalm 39:6 So we must make sure that our lives count for something.

There is hope:” “But now, Lord, what do I look for?
My hope is in You. Psalm 39:7

We can regret our limitations that we endure and live accordingly, or we can live our lives to make a difference. We should not to be governed by the length of our days, but by the depth of our commitment.

Only God can overwhelm our sense of futility with His purpose. Only God can defeat our temporary existence with the hope of life that is everlasting (heaven).

LOOK FOR HIDDEN ROOTS.

It is a demonic and yes, you can be delivered of it. Look for hidden roots.  Examples of roots are guilt, which is defined as a feeling of responsibility or remorse for some offense, failure, mistake, crime, or wrong, whether real or imagined. It is associated with negative feelings such as shame, remorse, anguish, torment, self-condemnation, self-unforgiveness, self-judgment.

Do you often wondered about your own problems:

  1.  An inordinate desire to please
  2. Inability to say no to things I didn’t want to do
  3. Always setting goals, working hard to accomplish them and then stopping short of success
  4. Always feeling I had to do things better than anyone else
  5. Trying to make everything around me and about me look better than I thought it was

WITCHCRAFT, WICCA AND SATANISM

THE UNINVITED EVIL GUEST

Michael O’Brian is a popular Christian novelist, who published many books. In his biography, “On the Edge of Infinity”, he described what happened to him in the middle of the night.

Michael awoke to a terrible feeling that there was an evil presence in his bedroom: a malevolent spirit who wanted to devour his soul. He was guilty of replacing his loving God with some sort of vague cosmic force: an ungodly spirit which is the worst kind. He felt like a defenseless prey in front of a large predator. He cried out in the depths of his soul,” GOD SAVE ME!” Instantly, the evil spirit backed off and a supernatural peace filled Michael—something that he had not felt in years.

He perceived divine grace at work. He now believed that God was real and that everything that the Church had taught him was reality—ultimate reality.

After a while, he stopped praying, thinking that now he could go back to sleep. Immediately, He felt the evil presence resume the attack with full force. Spontaneously, he began to pray the 23rd Psalm, The Lord is my Shepherd. Success! “By their fruits, you will know them.”  Matthew 7: 20

This story reveals the real presence of evil spirits and the possibility that these spirits could be the cause of one’s depression or mental state. These evil spirits must be delivered away from depressed persons.

FIRST COMMANDMENT — “YOU SHALL HAVE NO GODS BEFORE ME”

Some adolescents are in search of spiritual meaning. On any given day, you can go to a mall or bookstore and… books on witchcraft, Wicca and Satanism are readily available and being studied.  Its attractiveness lies primarily in its emphasis on feelings, power and freedom.  As well you are able to be your own priest/priestess.

Some women find Wicca’s focus on goddess worship very appealing — not one God. Most Wiccans worship a dual deity, the Horned God and the Lady.

Wiccans believe that the spiritual and material world are one reality, and that there is no one true right or only way.

A devout Christian  used to be a Wiccan. He said that he got so deeply into it, that he was nearly demoniacally possessed. Any kind of dabbling in the spirit world opens you up to it. People run the risk of actually having manifestations of evil spirits, being harassed or bothered by evil spirits.

The inherent danger of  this “magical addiction” is that the more power you raise, the more intoxicated you get. You start gathering more and more power for yourself, and it takes over your life. The biggest danger is the loss of our eternal soul.

It is a violation of the first commandment — “You shall have no gods before me” — but dabbling in the occult can also lead to physical as well as spiritual harm. If teens get involved in Satanism there are physical dangers for them and beyond that confusion, doubt, depression and suicide attempts.

“Let there not be found among you anyone who immolates his son or daughter in the fire, nor a fortune-teller, soothsayer, charmer, diviner or caster of spells, nor one who consults ghosts and spirits or seeks oracles from the dead. Anyone who does such things is an abomination to the Lord.”                                        Deuteronomy 18:10-12

  Demonic Influence is Real.

Demons cannot enter into a person’s body without having some kind of legal permission and legal right to be able to do so. They need some kind of an entry point to be able to get in and attach to someone, and that entry point will be their door opener. That something specific will be their legal right. This is Spiritual Warfare and these persons must be delivered.

Here is a brief list of some of the areas in a person’s life that a demon can affect. It may not necessarily be demon influence, but it’s not uncommon to find a demon behind these things. Continue reading WITCHCRAFT, WICCA AND SATANISM
