Here is the Real Tragedy: THE NEW NORMAL

Climate change is a devilish problem for humanity with scary forecasts. It is worse, much worse, than you think. If your anxiety about global warming is dominated by fears of sea-level rise, you are barely scratching the surface of what terrors are possible. Across the US, “500-year” storms pummel communities month after month, and floods displace tens of millions annually.

Parts of the Earth could become close to uninhabitable, and other parts horrifically inhospitable, as soon as the end of this century, distorting nearly every aspect of human life as it is lived today. They expect 200 million climate refugees in the world by 2050.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is NEW-NORMAL3.jpg

Like An Inconvenient Truth and Silent Spring before it, The Uninhabitable Earth is both a meditation on the devastation we have brought upon ourselves and an impassioned call to action. The world was brought to the brink of catastrophe within the span of a lifetime.

Because humans are responsible for the problem, they must be capable of undoing at least some of it. It sounds the alarm at a time when immediate action must be taken. The responsibility to avoid it now belongs to a single generation: your generation!

Stimulus and automatic stabilization are still able to place a floor under economic collapse. But they are not able to bring about a return to high growth and full employment. Exercising caution over warning signs is tantamount to complacency.

The book, The Uninhabitable Earth: Life after Warming depicts the most horrendous catastrophes that will wreak havoc and death on the earth if the people and nations do not immediately undertake major serious programs to halt global warming – if it is not already too late.

Global warming is wreaking havoc now. In California, wildfires now rage year-round, destroying thousands of homes. Five of the 20 worst fires in California’s history blazed in 2017; the deadliest incinerated the town of Paradise last year. Floods are becoming wetter, droughts drier and hurricanes fiercer. Such calamities mark “the end of normal”, as climate change tips Earth beyond the conditions that allowed humans to evolve in the first place. And that is with barely 1°C of man-made warming since the industrial revolution.

Things will get much worse. The world is on course to become at least 3°C hotter than in pre-industrial times. Even if warming did not exceed 2°C, as stipulated in the Paris climate agreement of 2015, rising seas may engulf $1 trillion-worth of American property.

Is the 2017  Hurricane Season worse than usual?

tragedy hurricane prayer

Short answer: Yes. When compared to past Atlantic hurricane seasons, this year is shaping up to be a doozy. with 7 named hurricanes by the end of 2017. That’s twice the pace of a typical season. It may be normal for six storms to develop in a month, but it is “very unusual for two Category 4 and two Category 5 hurricanes to do so. It is also rare (and wildly tragic) for three major hurricanes (Irma, Jose and Maria) to charge through the same area (the northeastern Caribbean) in such a short amount of time (three weeks).

Harvey made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane near Rockport, Texas on August 25. Then came Irma, Jose and Maria: all Categories 3 or higher, and all within a month.  It would be shocking if we didn’t get at least two more hurricanes.  Estimates for this year are putting damage from Harvey and Irma at around $290 billion. The two storms alone are twice as expensive as four in 2005. Coastal counties account for nearly 40 percent of the total U.S. population. As more development occurs in harm’s way, the more likely the damage will grow.

We know there will be more storms—not just more storms forming but more storms threatening” populated areas. The four latest hurricanes hit along similar direction toward landfall all within a month. For the continental United States in the Atlantic Basin, models project a 75 percent increase in the frequency of category 4 and 5 hurricanes

…Could you not keep watch for one hour?”  Mark 14:37

Do you have problems with commitment to prayer? How about short five minutes segments in an hour? You can also just pray at a few spokes of the wheel.

It’s wonderful to start the day with the Lord, praying in the early hours before work begins. Having a set time and place for prayer has positive benefits, whether it is morning, noon or night.

Consider the “Miracle Hour” as an intensely loving “power encounter” with your heavenly Father. The more you can personalize them, and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you spontaneously in your own words, the more meaningful it will be.

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? Psalm 42:1-2

Let us pray!

People of praise are people of faith. Praise draws us into the abundant life in which God created us to live. When we praise God we acknowledge His supremacy in our lives. Praise draws us into His presence even when we don’t feel like it.

Let us praise God in all things. For the next five minutes just forget about yourself and concentrate on God. Between each segment you may wish to say the Our Father prayer or pray in the charismatic gift of tongues.

  • Praise You, Jesus; You are the King of kings.
  • Praise You, Jesus; You are the King of creation.
  • Praise You, Jesus; You are the King of the universe.
  • Praise You, Jesus; You are the Almighty.
  • Praise You, Jesus; You are Christ, the King.
  • Praise You, Jesus; You are the Lamb of God.
  • Praise You, Jesus; You are the Way for our life.
  • Praise You, Jesus; You are only Truth.
  • Praise You, Jesus; You are the Wonderful Counselor.

Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord
and extol him with music and song.Psalm 95-102:1, 2

Anointed music has a great power to open our spirits. You may also wish to hum in tongues if you are released in that gift. There are a host of Christ-centered songs: the eight-fold Alleluia, “I love you, Lord”, etc.

(Our Father)

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”  Ephesians 6:12

At times in our lives we may have inadvertently opened our spirit to some negative spiritual forces. It’s time to close those doors. It is important when we pray to place ourselves specifically under the protection of the Lord’s protection and take authority over any powers of evil.

I place myself now under the cross of Jesus Christ and cover myself with the Precious Blood of Jesus.

In the name of Jesus Christ I seal this room and all members of my family, relatives and associates in the Blood of Jesus Christ.

I renounce all openness to the occult, all false worship and all benefits from magical arts. I renounce every power apart from God and every form of worship that does not offer true honor to Jesus Christ. I specifically renounce ___________________(for example, astrology, fortune telling, crystals, tarot cards, Ouija boards and any occult games.)

In the name of Jesus Christ, I break any curses that may be coming against me or my family, and stop the transmission of those curses through my ancestry.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I bind you spirit of _______________ (anger, unforgiveness, fear, insecurity, illness trauma.) Lord Jesus, fill me with Your love to replace the fear; fill me with strength to replace the weakness, fill me with your health to replace the illness.

Loving Father, let the cleansing, healing waters of my baptism flow back through the generations to purify my family line of contamination.

(Our Father)

Our healing and empowerment begins when we surrender to Jesus. People generally find that He is the strongest in them when they surrender, and are in a position of weakness before Him. The more we open up, yield, and simply allow ourselves to be drawn deeply into the Lord’s love, the more our lives will come into right order. Pray from your heart. Pray it in your words, spontaneously, not as a ritual, but with an opening of yourself to God.  “… may Your will be done” Matthew 26:42

Loving Father, I surrender to You today with all my heart and soul. Please come into my heart in a deeper way. Jesus You are Lord of my whole life. I believe in You and receive You as my Lord and Savior.

Lord, I surrender my entire life to You, the past, the present and the future. In sickness and in health, in life and in death, I belong to You. I surrender my emotions, my fears, my insecurities, my sexuality. I especially surrender______________,________________.

(Our Father)

Come Holy Spirit, and baptize me with the fire of Your love. I have surrendered to the best of my ability, and now I want to be filled with Your Spirit. I yield now to receive Your sanctification gifts of Isaiah 11:2: wisdom, understanding, and knowledge.

I yield and ask You to release Your manifestation gifts of: faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues and interpretation of tongues 1 Corinthians 12.

I need them to witness to a hurting world. Only in Your power, guided by Your Spirit, can my life be fruitful. Holy Spirit come. I want it all, wrapped in “the greatest of these: love” 1 Corinthians 13:13. Thank you for reminding me that the love of Jesus is always there, filling in the gap between the love I needed and the love I received.

I want every purpose God has for my life to be fulfilled, and I need You, mighty Spirit of God, to bring that purpose to fulfillment.

Thank you for washing and cleansing any wounds and scars from the past that still have the power to dominate my thoughts and suppress my physical and emotional freedom.

Thank You for coming and drawing out the uncried tears, the unfinished grieving, the pain of loss, the traumas, the fear, the emotional hurts so painful that they were “buried alive.”

Thank You for coming into the root cause of any chronic failures. (Scan you life for any hurtful memories that need to be healed. When they surface, say simply “Holy Spirit I surrender that event to You for healing. Thank you for bringing Your good out of the hurt.  Thank you especially for ________________”. Come Holy Spirit Song

(Our Father)

As you pray the following prayer, it is not recommended that you delve into all your sins and failings, but let the Holy Spirit guide you. Don’t get bogged down in the details of the prayer, but use it to stimulate an active conscience.

Loving Father, I am sorry for all the ways I have offended You, knowingly or unknowingly. I have sinned in thought, word and deed. I have sinned in what I have done, and in what I have failed to do. I come before You and ask for the grace of a deeply repentant heart. You know my innermost secrets. I open my heart to You today and ask You to show me the ways I have blocked the flow of Your love.

I ask forgiveness for sins against my purity; lust, fornication, adultery, unclean books, movies and videos and sexual fantasies, especially _________________.

I turn away from all those activities and I turn to You. I deeply repent of having an abortion or encouraging someone to have an abortion.

Forgive me, Lord. I repent of any compulsive, addictive behavior: drinking, drugs, gambling, sex, food and all addictions especially _________________.

Thank you, Father, for setting me free. I repent for not taking care of my physical and emotional health: lack of balance in nutrition, rest and exercise; perhaps the unhealthy suppression of emotions. I make a commitment today to take care of myself.

I’m sorry for the times I have hurt other people. I repent of any stealing, lying, deceiving and defrauding. I regret any lack of affirming others, brushing people off, coldness, unloving and inconsiderate behavior. I’m sorry for gossiping, betrayal of confidences and all breaches of faith.

I repent of any envy, hatred, resentment, unforgiveness, jealousy, criticizing or judging other, not receiving love in the way it is offered, and withholding expressions of love. I especially ask for forgiveness for______________________.

I bring before You now those areas that I am the most ashamed to bring to You; areas that I have hidden, such as certain personal habits, secret guilt, dark areas I have previously refused to bring to You. I bring You all areas about which I am the most ashamed, especially __________________________.

Loving Father, what else should I bring to You? For these I beg pardon today. I accept Your forgiveness and now share Your forgiveness with others. Thank You, Lord. Amen.

 (Our Father)

Make a decision to be reconciled with the people in your life. Life is too short and too precious to waste being trapped and bound in the chains of unforgiveness. Let it go, today. You won’t be sorry. Forgiveness begins with a decision; the emotions will follow.

Loving Father, I choose to forgive everyone in my life, including myself, because You have forgiven me. I forgive myself for all my sins, faults and failings, especially _____________________. I forgive myself for not being perfect, I accept myself and make a decision to stop picking on myself and being my own worst enemy.

I forgive my MOTHER for any negativity and unlove she may have extended to me throughout my life, knowingly or unknowingly, especially _________________. I release her from bondage and make peace with her today.

I forgive my FATHER for any negativity and unlove he may have extended to me throughout my life, knowingly or unknowingly, especially ___________________.I release him from bondage and make peace with him today.

I forgive my SPOUSE for and negativity and unlove extended throughout our time together, especially __________________________. I release my spouse from bondage and make peace between us today.

I forgive my CHILDREN for any hurts, especially ______________________. I release them from bondage and make peace with them today. Bless them. Lord.

I forgive my SISTERS and BROTHERS for any negativity and unlove especially ___________________.

I forgive my BLOOD RELATIVES for any abuses, especially ________________________.

I forgive my ANCESTORS for any negative actions that affect my life today. I release them from bondage and make peace with them today, in Jesus’ name.

I forgive FRIENDS for any actions of negativity and unlove, especially __________________________. For any time they abused our relationship or led me astray, I do forgive them. I release them from all bondage, and pray a blessing on them today, in Jesus’ name.

I forgive all SCHOOL TEACHERS for any negative, abusive actions, especially ___________________. I forgive LAWYERS, DOCTORS, NURSES, and other professionals, especially ___________________. I forgive CLERGY and all representatives of the church especially _____________________________.

I release them all, in Jesus’ name. I forgive every member of SOCIETY who has hurt me in any way

Heavenly Father I now ask for the grace to forgive the ONE PERSON IN LIFE WHO HAS HURT ME THE MOST. The one who is the hardest to forgive, I now choose to forgive, though I may still feel angry and hurt.

Thank You, Lord. I praise You. Amen.

(Our Father)

As you begin this section just say simple, “Lord, please speak to me through Your word today.” Open your Bible, browse through it, allow a word or phrase to catch your attention. Once something catches your eyes, stop there. If, for example, the word, “hope,” catches your eyes, ponder the meaning of it. Ask the Lord why that word captured your attention.. Ask, “Holy Spirit, what do You want to teach me through this word?” Write these reflections in your notebook and continue to meditate on them later. This is a very important record of your spiritual walk.

(Our Father)

Scripture is one of our most important avenues of interaction with the Lord, along with the direct inspiration of the Holy Spirit. As we feast on the Bible we come to know the character of God. We are infused with faith, hope and love as we spend time in the Word of God.

“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him …” Psalm 37:7.

Often it helps to close your eyes. He wants to speak to us more than we want to listen. He is a God of love, and love longs to communicate. Have a pen and note pad handy, and expect Him to speak. ” Speak, for Your servant is listening” 1 Samuel 3:10

As words or thoughts begin to come into your mind, write them in your notebook. Most probably, it will be the Lord giving you a word of loving encouragement, hope and healing.

(Our Father)

“I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone …” 1 Timothy 2:1

One of the greatest gifts we can give each other is the gift of prayer. This is the time to pray for other people. Pray for nations and leaders, pastors and those in authority.

Pray for the homeless, aborted babies, the sick and the dying. Pray for those who have no one to pray for them. Pray for your enemies. Pray for your family, friends, and associates.

Most important, ask the Holy Spirit to bring people to mind. He surely will. Their names probably will continue to come to mind throughout the day, once you make yourself available, because the Lord is always looking for someone willing to pray.

You might ask, “Lord, what does this person need?” Often an area of need will come to mind. He prompted you to ask, so you can be sure that He will do something about the need!

The prayer of a righteous man [and woman] is powerful and effective” James 5:16.

(Our Father)

“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” Hebrews 4:16.

This is a time for you to ask the Lord to meet your own needs. Do you have a health concern? How about the long term goals for your life? Be specific. It helps to write down intercessions and petitions, as well as goals, so that when they are answered faith will increase.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8.

(Our Father)

“Let us be thankful, and so worship God …”Hebrews 12:28.

Thank you, loving Father in heaven, for the amazing grace of this “Miracle Hour” with You. Thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to teach, guide and counsel me. Thank You for the fruit of the Spirit working in me: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness and self control.

Thank You for the grace to listen to You, believe in You and come to You. Thank You for all the ways You have helped me and intervened on my behalf. Thank You for Your plan for my life, for creating me with a high purpose in mind, for giving me a sense of worth. Thank You for loving me unconditionally.

Thank You for Your living Word that strengthens and empowers me. Thank You for enabling me to rise out of discouragement and walk in joy. Thank You for keeping me in perfect peace. Thank You for making all things work together for good as I place my trust in You. Thank You for enabling me to dwell in safety, and protecting me from the snares of the fowler.

Thank You for giving Your angels charge over me, to guide me in all my ways. Thank You for guiding me and giving me wisdom. Thank You for abundance of Your love that casts out all fear.

Thank You for supplying all my needs in accordance with Your riches in glory. Thank You for freeing me from sickness in body, mind and spirit, and bringing good out of the times when trouble comes. Thank You for giving me a spirit of wisdom and revelation to know the great hope to which I have been called.

Thank You for all the blessings of life: godly ancestors, spouse, family, friends, professional people, clergy and church. Thank You for all who have helped me along the way.

Thank You for the wonderful gift of my life, exactly the way it is. And I thank You for the greatest gift of all — Your Son Jesus.

I especially thank You for ________________________ .

“Thanks be to God for this indescribable gift” 2 Corinthians 9:15.

Miracle Hour by Linda Schubert

Jesus is the greatest teacher and role model for prayer: He gave us the LORD’S PRAYER found in Luke 11.2-5:

hallowed be Your name,
Your kingdom come.

Give us each day our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.
And lead us not into temptation.”

Prayer is a two-way street. We talk to God and He talks to us. Yet, it isn’t a question of equal time. We should spend more time listening to God than in speaking.

We also discover that prayer is a journey that is deep and intense, yet at the same time, simplistic. God most loves the simple prayer from the heart, our attempts to please and reverence Him. This is why we have to be sensitive to God’s glory and not our own joy or pleasure, as part of our own will. So give God a word of praise!

Prayer is an ongoing and growing love relationship with God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In the growth process, faith enters unto the stage. Without faith, prayers remain unanswered. We must firmly believe that our prayers will be answered WHILE we are praying it. We must develop “heart” knowledge and not simply “head” knowledge. We must learn to PRAY the prayer.

Unanswered prayers occur for a variety of reasons:

  • We ask for things that are not in our best interests.
  • Our prayer is contradictory. For example, “Lord I need patience quickly.”
  • We are not prepared for what we have asked.

A cry for healing is among our most urgent prayers. When we are in pain, we can turn to the Great Physician, Jesus Christ, for healing. During his earthly ministry, Jesus Christ said many prayers for healing, miraculously causing the sick to recover.

So God arranges a divine appointment on behalf of  those who have been praying for healing. God can heal by Himself, but He almost always  requires His disciples to heal with Him.

So there are those disciples who actually do have a gift of healing. This author has been blessed with such a gift. This came about late in life when I made a decision to become a Christian Lay Missionary. One does not simply travel to the other side of the world only to wish people good health. God provides the tools in order to make a difference: a laying of healing hands.

“Thou hast given me dominion over the works of His hands;
thou hast put all things under my feet”                                       Psalm 8:6

“Jesus took my infirmities and bore my sicknesses. By His stripes I am Healed.!”                                                           Matthew 8:17 1 Peter 2:24

During the intervals while still at home, this author prays daily to be sensitive to any divine appointment that God has placed in his path. This happens very regularly: at least once every few days. Part of the healing is usually immediate which gives the healed person more faith. The faith which is necessary comes from a BREATH PRAYER that must be said whenever one thinks about it and a minimum of once daily until all the healing is complete: “Lord Jesus, I praise you and thank you for Your healing!”

Most people don’t know that God want to heal them:

“Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. ”                                                                                                                                              3 John 1:2Jesus is God PHYSICAL HEALING

Healing is often overlooked today.

Our culture has little place for such experiences. People do not understand the concept of a “divine breakthrough” into our little world.

If a person does not appear to be healed after prayers,  one should not be anxious; the healing minister will have followed exactly what God requires. The healing is done in heaven: these are only delayed healing. God wants us to depend on Him– not a technique.

Man’s most basic need is to know that he is loved. Let us contemplate the important part love has in the healing process. At Lourdes, some people are healed and others are not, but all leave with a sense of peace, convinced that the Holy Spirit has touched them and that God loves them.

When you go to a doctor for healing, you don’t try to justify our asking for help, e.g. Help me because I can be a better parent, a better worker, a better spouse. Yet this is what many people do when they pray for healing from God: they even try to bargain with God: I will do this if only you heal me. These people have a fearful relationship with God.

prayer healing

The real truth is that God is Love and He wants to see you healed without your justification. Healing is an ordinary, not an extraordinary sign of God’s mercy and compassion. “But in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”                                                                           Philippians 4:6

Jesus cured not just to prove He was God, but because He was abounding in love. God is more than willing to save and heal all who come  to Him with open and contrite hearts. Healing can be a test of faith, but also a natural response to God’s generous love.  The minister of healing, who is nothing more than a human channel, says the prayer of healing and then steps aside.

After welcoming the presence of Jesus, and giving  Him praise and thanksgiving, we turn to laying of hands, which  is biblical: “They will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well Mark 16:18  Along with a prayer of faith, the value of touching the sick person in any way possible provides a channel, where power is transferred more readily and far, far more effectively. There seems to be a current of healing power that flows from the minister of healing to the sick person.  But Jesus said, “Someone touched Me; I know that power has gone out from Me.”                                                               Luke 8:46

The prayer of healing is more like a prayer of command, “Be healed.” and ” It is done. Thank you, Lord.” The sick person may also wish to ask God’s help during prayers silently: “Come Lord Jesus, Come  and heal me”

Those who pray in tongues, turn the prayer over to the Holy Spirit, when they are not sure precisely what to pray for. Even in a foreign country, laying of hands on a head or shoulders, and praying in tongues will suffice, when you do not know the language.

The most powerful time for healing is immediately after the Eucharistic Celebration. This is a time when Jesus Christ is most especially with us.

The person delivered and healed must continue to thank God for the spiritual healing every day until the total deliverance and healing has taken place and to thank Him whenever he or she thinks about it (a minimum of once a day) by a FAITH breath prayer until the healing takes place; it is only 12 words:

Thanking God, before the healing happens, strengthens your faith.

Our problem is that we terribly under-estimate the incredibly magnificent thing He has done in sending the Lord Jesus to us. He has sent Jesus, and given us the authority to use that Name, the Name above all Names, as our infallible weapon against sickness and torment.

Jesus never refused healing to anyone. All who came to Him were healed, without exception. None were told to come back later after they had “suffered for God” or “learned a lesson.”

We are also positioned far above all other authority in the Universe, including Satan. Everything under God is also in subjection under our feetEphesians 1:22. God knows it, Satan knows it, the unclean spirits know it and tremble James. 2:19, but we apparently don’t believe it. And so the tragedy is that we cower as Satan “prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”                                                                                                       1 Peter 5:8

We don’t do what Jesus did because, frankly, we really don’t believe what He said, and we’re way too timid to give it a try. We are comfortable with Christianity. We are not comfortable with Jesus. In fact, He apparently embarrasses us.

Unfortunately, we have a slight problem. Frankly, it’s just too embarrassing to lay hands on people, to speak healing out loud with conviction, and to cast the denizens of hell back to the pit from which they emerged to afflict us. Someone might laugh at us. After all, we are respectable people.

The key to the gifts of healing is one’s faith. People’s persistence proves their faithfulness. They believe that God has the answer to all their prayers. Persistent prayer is answered because those who believe actually expect to be healed by God, so they continually ask until they receive.

So here it is again, that most important prayer that should come second nature to you:” Lord Jesus, I love You; I believe in You; I trust You.  In the beginning you will need memory pegs to remind you to use this prayer, such as when you first enter your car.

God divinely inspired the BIBLE . How do we know? Each of eight accurate predictions  show a high probability mathematically. The probability of one individual fulfilling eight prophecies have odds of 1 in 10 17  (1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000). Jesus Christ fulfilled all prophecies, therefore the Bible MUST BE TRUE.

The Old Testament indicates another 40 astonishing predictions.

Christianity experiences stunning growth—from approximately 3.8 million adherents in China in 1956 to an estimated 87 to 100 million Christians today.

In the end, one Christian conversion will benefit the whole family.  The gifts of the Holy Spirit of healing and deliverance will help the whole family. A prayer of deliverance of evil spirits will leave any member of the family with a complete sense of peace immediately. A prayer of healing from a Christian disciple produces 80% healing. The remaining healing comes from continued prayer of praise and thanksgiving until all the healing is complete. This healing comes from the Holy Spirit through the power in the Name of Jesus Christ.  No other god or deity or doctor uses this power. This proves the TRUTH OF CHRISTIANITY.

Christianity and Hinduism Differences

Christianity is not a philosophy, but it is  a relationship with God, your Creator,  in Christ TODAY. It is not knowledge of abstract principles.  How do we know this? Healing takes place TODAY in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Many Christian disciples use the gift of healing.  They also use deliverance to deliver away evil spirits influencing people. These evil spirits cause depression, addictions and illness through all forms of stress.  Only the Name of Jesus Christ makes healing and deliverance possible.Chinese Religion God

Jesus is alive today! He heals today (through His followers) and in many cases it is realized immediately. How else can you explain the explosion of Christianity, the world’s largest religion, on earth: 2.2 billion adherents, nearly a third (31 percent) of all 6.9 billion people on Earth.

Christians know and feel His Presence; they communicate with Him personally; Christian prayers are always answered.

This author has been given the Gift of Healing only because he is a Christian Lay Missionary, who travels  two to three places every year. On his last trip to Columbia he successfully transferred his Gift to his Spanish translators, who were able to heal as he did. He has healed Muslims to their great surprise.

He also delivers away evil spirits along with their healing. All those who are delivered from evil spirits feel a complete physical  sense of peace.

God can give a message to those non-Christians to change their heart.  God knows faith will be developed eventually. God will come to you in the form of dreams or visions. So be sensitive to any dreams or visions, when you ask God for it earnestly.

challenge aging

Waiting patiently in expectation does not necessarily get easier as we become older. On the contrary, as we grow in age we are tempted to settle down in a routine way of living and say: “Well, I have seen it all. … There is nothing new under the sun. … I am just going to take it easy and take the days as they come.”

But in this way our lives lose their creative tension. We no longer expect something really new to happen. We become cynical or self-satisfied or simply bored. We have become couch Christians.

challenge ageing

God is still writing your story.
Don’t let go of your faith because of what you have yet to see.

The challenge of aging is waiting with an ever-greater patience and an ever- stronger expectation. It is living with an eager hope. It is the trusting that through Christ “we have been admitted into God’s favor … and look forward exultantly to God’s glory”     Romans 5:2

When Neymar’s Brazil won gold in its home Olympics in 2016, Neymar took the podium to receive his gold medal with a headband reading “100% Jesus.” Yet this ostensible display of devotion caused controversy, given the star player’s out of wedlock son and public love life. Fame and fortune are always dangerous to the Christian.

TWO MINDSThere are those who have two minds because one is wavering or inconstant. This person has no settled principles. He is controlled by passion; he may be influenced by popular feeling. In other words, he is inclined to one opinion or course of conduct, and now to another. “A man is of two minds, unstable in all his ways.”      James 1:8

David of the Old Testament commanded that Bathsheba’s husband, Uriah, be put at the front lines of the battle and that the troops be pulled back from him. Just as David had hoped, Uriah was killed. David then took Bathsheba as his wife.

David’s behavior presents a perfect example of a double-minded man. Even though he had God’s Life in his heart and had been “a man after God’s own heart,” he nevertheless chose to go with the tide and follow the lusts of his own flesh over what God was prompting him to do.

A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. Are you unstable about your relationship to Christ?

If you lack wisdom, you must ask for it.

CONTEMPLATIONWe simply have to find a quiet place and a straight chair and sit in a relaxed position. We close our eyes and begin to repeat the name of Jesus in a seven word breath prayer that  you find meaningful until we are completely focused on Him.

Then we surrender to Him and allow Him to do whatever He wishes. We simply absorb all His love, His peace and joy. We let Him be in charge for the duration of the prayer.

If a distraction comes, we gently return to repeating the name of Jesus until the distraction goes away, and continue our surrender to Him. We must not expect anything but accept whatever the Lord gives us. This is a prayer of the heart and Jesus will communicate in the center of our heart. Remember He is free, and be patient.

If you have not contemplated before, just read the book on contemplative prayer and begin contemplating for 10 minutes.  Once you are comfortable with 10 minutes, you can add a few more minutes until your prayer lasts 20 minutes. Contemplative prayer should last 20 to 30 minutes at a time.

Almost every person can contemplate and even children as young as 12 years of age can profitably contemplate for 10 or more minutes.

Remember that contemplative prayer is a gift from God. Prayer is very dear to Jesus. It makes our relationship with Him grow continuously.

All that is needed is the disciple of healing to be an instrument. He or she does not get power from theological studies or academic degrees. It is Jesus that has the power and who accomplishes all the work: “it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. “Galatians 2:20  It was the same with all the great saints in the world, who had become so totally preoccupied with Jesus, that they forgot all the things that were wrong in their life.

Prayer is a gift from God. To cooperate with the gift of healing, one must be disciplined to give time for prayer. A healing disciple must be very connected. Some spend three hours a day before the Lord. Jesus wants no less than an hour for Himself.

When healing prayers are said over the phone, even on the other side of the world, by a disciple of healing, the person being prayed for can be completely healed. Jesus is not confined to one place. God is everywhere and His prayer is limitless; there is not distance for Him.Disciple of Healing

The short answer is Yes, but through the Disciple of Healing. Those disciples can be found in healing prayer groups that meet in church basements during the week. Often those disciples may only have a small inkling that they have been blessed with a gift of healing.

The growth of our spiritual life depends upon the development of our friendship and intimacy with God so that we can share all our actions with Him. The goodness of God is dynamic. It leads to action; it not only fills the soul but it makes the soul love and makes it manifest its love in deeds. Christ has no more ardent desire than to see en-kindle on our souls the fire of love, with which His own Heart is consumed.

It is essential that the soul should put itself in daily contact with our Lord. We should develop the habit of talking to God frequently during the day quite informally. At all costs, we must persevere in devoting a set time to private prayer daily inflexibly. We also need to read daily in order that we may reflect daily. We can pray informally or simply talk to God. Yes, you will have distractions but you can make them the subject of your conversation with God.

There is no soul which is not bound to pray, for every single grace comes to the soul through prayer:

  • A soul which is pure and beautiful must pray, or else it will lose its beauty;
  • a soul which is striving after this purity must pray, or else it will never attain it;
  • a soul which is newly converted must pray, or else it will fall again;
  • a sinful soul, plunged in sins, must pray so that it might rise again.

So what is the Bottom Line?

In China, 44 percent of religiously unaffiliated people have worshiped at a burial site in the past year. Yet, many young Chinese look down on these traditions, calling them “superstitious” and “old-fashioned.”

A Chinese man brings flowers to the grave site of his deceased relatives to mark the Qingming.

Local funerals involve much pomp and ceremony; the family uses extravagance to demonstrate their love for the deceased. The night vigil shows a sign of respect.

How would we both honor the meaning of Christian funerals and also Chinese traditions? Both are different. Some think that Christianity shows excessive love for foreign things.  They say it shows a rejection of one’s roots. Yet, these traditional funeral ceremonies seemed strange to many of a younger generation.

A Christian funeral with Christian meaning  includes important prayers for the deceased.  Catholics believe in offering prayers for deceased relatives

“In heaven the elders and angels offer up the prayers of the saints [on earth] as incense before the throne of God”                                                                                                                                                     Revelation 5:8; 8:3-4

This implies that the angels and elders (holy Christians  now in heaven) hear the prayers of every Christian on earth, and join their prayer now with ours: they can hear our prayers for the deceased.

WHAT IS A BLESSING?When we invoke God’s blessing, we implore His divine beneficence, trusting that He will respond to our needs. He will cause situations to come together in your favor, no matter what others try to do.

The Lord said to Moses, “Bless the people of Israel with this special Blessing. Whenever (you) bless the people … in My name, I Myself will bless them.”                                                                            Numbers 6:23, 27

“May the Lord bless you
    and protect you.

May the Lord smile on you

May the Lord show you His favor
and give you His peace.”                       Numbers 6:24-26
