One of the greatest challenges of the spiritual life is to receive God’s forgiveness. There is something in us humans that keeps us clinging to our sins and preventing us from letting God erase our past and offer us completely new beginnings. Sometimes it even seem as though we want to prove to God that our darkness is too great to overcome.                                                                                      HENRI NOUWEN

“Should a man nourish anger against his fellows and expect healing from the LORD?
Should a man refuse mercy to his fellows, yet seek pardon for his own sins?

If he who is but flesh cherishes wrath, who will forgive his sins?
Remember your last days, set enmity aside; remember death and decay, and cease from sin. ”                                                            Sirach 28:3-6

One of the hardest things in life is to let go of old hurts. We often say, or at least think: “What you did to me and my family, my ancestors, or my friends I cannot forget or forgive. … One day you will have to pay for it.” Sometimes our memories are decades, even centuries old, and keep asking for revenge.

Yes, we can get attached to these negative identities and even take morbid pleasure in them. It might be good to have a look at these dark feelings and explore where they come from. Henri Nouwen

This can be solved by a Prayer  of Deliverance. Whatever has you in bondage can be broken by the power of the almighty God in the name of Jesus.

These messages came to Father Melvin Doucette:

NEED FOR FORGIVENESSHave no fear to approach Me

It is sometimes not the people who are the problem, but the spiritual forces of evil that prevail in the world.

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”                                                                                                 Ephesians 6:12

deliverance is

Deliverance is defined as “a rescue from bondage or danger.”

All aspects of deliverance are available only through the person and work of Jesus Christ:” When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, ‘Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!’”                                                                              Luke 10:17

To determine if you are in need of deliverance, ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Are you continually argumentative or contrary–usually on the verge of anger?
  2.  Are you violating, neglecting or causing pain in a relationship?
  3.  Are you practicing sin and can’t seem to stop?
  4. Do you see a pattern of issues in your family, whether disease, poverty, anger, divorce, sexual perversion or other issues?
  5. You are sick all the time and the doctors find nothing wrong. You could be dealing with a spirit of infirmity?
  6. Are you having “spiritual” encounters, including recurring  dreams/nightmares that you leave you fearful?
  7. Do you sometimes sense that the problem isn’t you, but rather something in you?
  8. Are you attracted  to the occult. , e.g. Ouija Boards, Seance, Fortune Telling, Horoscopes, Hypnosis etc, or Witchcraft?
  9. Have you experienced traumatic events that have impacted your life negatively?
  10.  Do you keep hitting the same wall.

WHAT IS A BLESSING?When we invoke God’s blessing, we implore His divine beneficence, trusting that He will respond to our needs. He will cause situations to come together in your favor, no matter what others try to do.

The Lord said to Moses, “Bless the people of Israel with this special Blessing. Whenever (you) bless the people … in My name, I Myself will bless them.”                                                                            Numbers 6:23, 27

“May the Lord bless you
    and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you
    and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you His favor
and give you His peace.”                       Numbers 6:24-26

Blessings are signs to the faithful of the spiritual benefits achieved through Christ’s intercession. Every baptized person is called to be a ‘blessing,’ and to bless.  Hence lay people may preside at certain blessings. The value of this blessing in the eyes of God depends upon the person’s individual sincerity and sanctity.

We are blessed to be a blessing to others. When you focus on being a blessing, God makes sure that you are always blessed in abundance.

“And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.” Genesis 12:2

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.”                                                                                                 2 Corinthians 9:8

“And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all His commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you”                                                                                             Deuteronomy 28:1,2

Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever; who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free; the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. The Lord watches over the sojourners; He upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked He brings to ruin.”                                                                                                                                         Psalm 146:5-9

Vassula writes down the following messages which she receives in a stately handwriting, quite distinct from her own.  She hears, interiorly, a voice first, then , when she has to write down what she has heard, her writing changes.

Never cease praying, My child, for the conversion of the world; understand the more prayers I obtain, the less evil will be promulgated; prayers are never wasted.”

power prayer

Your prayers can change the world; your prayers can obtain God’s Graces for the conversion of sinners, and the more conversions, the more prayers will be made and heard for other conversions; do you understand? prayers are powerful; this is why I insist of you not to abandon your prayers and your sacrifices, the faithful are needed now more than ever.”                                                                    November 24, 1991

  • Christians don’t shout, “I am clean living!” They whisper “I was lost, but now I’m found and forgiven.”
  • Christians don’t speak of this with pride. They confess that they stumble and need Christ to be their guide.
  • Christians don’t say,” I’m strong.” They say they are trying to be strong because they are really weak and need strength.
  • Christians don’t brag of success, but they admit that they are failing and they need God to clean up the mess.
  • Christians don’t claim to be perfect. Their flaws are far too visible but God believes they are worth it.
  • Christians still feel the sting of pain and they have their share of headaches but they call upon His Name.
  • Christians are not holier than thou. They are also simple sinners who receive God’s unbelievable grace.

  Christianity on a Table Napkin:

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.                                                                                                                                               Romans 10:9

The real Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God. He was send by God to come to the earth in the body of a human being. That was so that He could suffer in the flesh, take all our sins upon Himself and die in our place. He rose from the dead and lives to pray for us daily.
He is the Saviour – The angel announced to Mary; …and you shall call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Matthew 1:21    It means He has the power to free us, save us and deliver us from sin. He is merciful and has the power to forgive. He brings good news to the poor, heals the heartbroken, announce freedom to all captives, pardons all prisoners. He comforts mourners. He has healing in His wings.
If you are not yet received Jesus as your Saviour… SAY: Lord Jesus, You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Please hear me today and help me! I want to receive you as my Lord and Saviour. Be Lord of my life!  Lord Jesus, I believe that You died for me and that God raised You from the dead. Forgive me all my sins and take all my sins away. Come into my heart and be my Saviour and Lord, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Amen

God the Father will wipe every tear from our eyes, and there shall be no more death or mourning, crying out or pain. We will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is The Holy Spirit will have made all things new. Eternal joy will have begun.  “For the Mighty One has done great things for me— holy is His name.”                                       Luke 1: 49

Are we not like Barabbas justly condemned for murder, but saved by the innocent Jesus on the cross? Are we not like the adulterous woman, deserving of death by stoning, to whom Jesus says, “I do not condemn you”?  And Jesus saved them both. In fact, Jesus came to earth specifically to look for and save those who were lost.

“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD.

“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;

though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.    Isaiah 1:18

Never Face the Future Alone

You Will Never Face the Future Alone.

How worthwhile are you? You are infinitely valuable to God. First, God created you. Second, Jesus died for you. Third, he puts his Spirit within you. Fourth, he wants you to be with him forever in eternity. That’s how valuable you are to God. You are infinitely valuable to God.

Face Future Trust

There is nothing to fear when you know God is near. On your own you might drown, but God has said, “I will never abandon you or leave you” Hebrews 13:5 Some of you feel alone right now. You may feel it, but you’re not! You’re not alone. God sees what you’re going through. God cares about what you’re going through. God’s going through that situation with you, and He will help you out if you trust Him.

Face Future Trust

The ultimate test of faith is not how loudly you praise God in happy times but how deeply you trust him in dark times.Face Future Trust

You may really believe and have a great trust in God Almighty, but the problem always comes from the doubt, What can you do to remove that doubt because it’s so pushing.

Satan will plan all kinds of seeds of doubt and fear in your mind like, “What if you lose your job?” “What if you get sick?” “What if you’re incapacitated?” “What if the economy tanks?” You may face anxiety from other sources as well. What you need to do is remember God promised to never abandon you and to always be with you. You don’t have to know what the future holds because you know Who holds the future.

Character is both developed and revealed by tests, and all of life is a test… You will be tested by major changes, delayed promises, impossible problems, unanswered prayers, undeserved criticism, and even senseless tragedies.

Face Future Trust

What gives you the most hope every day is God’s grace; knowing that His grace is going to give you the strength for whatever you face, knowing that nothing is a surprise to God.

Face Future Trust

If you fail to worship Him, you will create other things (idols) to give your life to.  If not to God, you will surrender to the opinions or expectations of others, to money, to resentment, to fear, or to your own pride, lusts, or ego. You are free to choose, what you surrender to but you are not free from the consequence of that choice.

You were made by God and for God, and until you understand that, life will never make sense.

A  Testimony of Healing and Deliverance

Our Christian mission involved five missionaries who traveled on a 1550 km trip by car as far as Chisasabi located on the east coast of James Bay on the Grand Riviere. As a Catholic, this was the first time that I witnessed deliverance, healing and God’s total presence.

ten million angels Chisasibi

We were told from Cynthia Elias, another missionary, who has the gift of prophecy, that we would be given the protection of ten million ministering angels. Now you say, that is much too surreal to grasp. Yet, as the trip unfolded and all of our mission goals had been reached, I personally wondered whether we were still under angelic protection.

Does not God protect His beloved with His angels?

We stayed in Chisasabi for only two days during Pentecost and we knew no one. One native secretary, Mary Snowboy, at the building that housed the auditorium (“which became our church”) was the first to learn about our short visit. She immediately told her father to visit “the Christians” at our hotel.

Joseph Snowboy had a distorted grimace on his face when he knocked on our door to ask for prayers. The pastor, who has the gift of deliverance, “delivered” Joseph, which was climaxed by a sudden thrust backwards on the bed on which he was sitting. He emerged with the glow like an altar boy. This was my first exposure to deliverance.

ten million angels deliveranceWas this divine appointment not instrumental in beginning my own role for deliverance?

There were two healing evening sessions, which was advertised on the local radio station. The Cree community quickly volunteered their musical talents because we had a professional sounds system, which really made them sound great in the auditorium.

My favourite story was the goose story. Two month previous the Lord spoke to Cynthia Elias, and she was told to travel on May 19, 2010 to which the contact in Chisasbi replied that this was a bad date because it was goose-hunting time.ten million angels prophecy

Does not God speak orally to some of His missionaries?

The Lord told Cynthia that the geese would be plentiful, but only after we left.  On the day before we left, I saw hunters unload their decoys looking very dejected. On the day we left, there was a low-pressure area very close to Chisasabi, which would have caused the geese to fly low in order to see land under the clouds.

ten million angels geese Did God not arrange for the geese to come at a predetermined time?

Every native who came forward was healed and delivered from evil spirits. One lady had a pain in the area of her abdomen, and the pain would continue to drop down toward her uterus. She admitted to having an abortion. The pain was removed with a prayer of healing by the pastor!

ten million angels healingWas this divine appointment not the beginning of my own role for healing?

A request came from a deacon of the Anglican Church to come and see a boy who was visibly possessed. I told him to bring the boy to the auditorium where we were ministering.

When they arrived, the boy refused to enter by shouting and holding on to the door jams of the auditorium. The demons would not let him enter a sacred place, which had previously been anointed.

ten million angels anointing Was this not a demonstration of the power of anointing?

The boy was ministered in the hallway for 15 minutes, while being held by both parents with no success. In desperation, the pastor commanded the possessed spirit to tell his name in the name of Jesus Christ.

It was only at the end of the evening in the parking lot, he cried “Tupak forever”. (Tupak was a demonic rap dancer who had died prematurely.) Then his father took off his Tupak belt (which was protecting evil spirits), and with a prayer of deliverance he received a sense of peace after only a few minutes from a prayer of deliverance.  We learned afterwards that he returned to a normal young boy in the community.

Was this not evidence that the evil spirits must respond to a Christian in the name of Jesus Christ?

On one of the pit stops on our way back, an unusually large yellow butterfly flew among us while we were chatting alongside the van. It landed in our midst and stayed there for a very long instant as we gawked in amazement. At the next pit stop, another similar butterfly passed through the open front doors of our van: I had my answer.

It’s interesting that foods are used as metaphors for good and evil.

If a good tree produces bad fruit, then is that tree actually bad and not good, for a good tree would never produce bad fruit to begin with, and so, the tree itself is evil.

You can always tell the bad trees from the good. It is not a secret. You just have to look at its fruit. For example, you can easily observe  anger.

“A good tree does not bear rotten fruit, nor does a rotten tree bear good fruit. For every tree is known by its own fruit. For people do not pick figs from thorn bushes, nor do they gather grapes from brambles.
A good person out of the store of goodness in his heart produces good, but an evil person out of a store of evil produces evil”                                                                                                                                           Luke 6:43-44

Using a similar metaphor, if you think of light and dark, darkness is merely the lack of light, this logic could be applied to good and evil as well could it not? If you think of humanity as innately good, and when there is no goodness, we see what we perceive as evil.

We are warned to beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but “inwardly they are ravening wolves.” They have heart-rot that is not evident at first. It is very difficult to know whether a person is teaching the truth simply by knowing some of his or her activities. This is because a snapshot of some activities can outwardly be deceiving.

“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits.”                                                                                     Matthew 7:15, 16

False prophets are not easily recognizable. They may speak angelically, act immaculately and even look heavenly, but “underneath they are ravenous wolves.” We know you cannot “judge a book by its cover.” The Lord knows that, too. But we have a dilemma. We can see the face but not the heart,

What do we have “underneath” it all? Underneath is the operative word here. We are asked by the Lord to look deep down and see what man is made of. He should be made of Christ. “Remain in Me, as I remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me”. John 15:4 How do we know who is the scoundrel and who is the Saint?” “By their fruit, you will know them.” Love produces more love. Forgiveness gives birth to mercy and compassion.

All things and people must point to Him. The true prophets point to God. The false prophets end in themselves. It’s all about them! When everything is said and done the only thing that “remains in me” must be CHRIST. “It is no longer I who live in me, but Christ who lives in me.” Galatians 2:19-21 The one who bears fruit is the one who lives in and for the Lord.

“Save us, Lord, who share in your life, and give us Your blessing; be our shepherd forever.”                                                                        Psalm 27:8-9

By “fruit” he means those words that come forth from the teacher. “For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.”             Luke 6:45

Are the teachings consistent with Scripture? What is the source of their teachings?

The Roman Catholic Church introduced the Christian doctrine in the fourth century AD, as a set of principles called the Nicene Creed – voted in place by a council appointed by the Roman Emperor Constantine.

For most religious institutions, the spiritual teacher is chosen because he or she graduated from a seminary college and received a certification of their being a minister. So who is qualifying them? In these fee-based (tuition) seminary colleges, a person simply pays a fee, passes the tests and gets the paper.

Just because someone ministers or helps does not mean automatically that they are good. Further inspection is necessary.

This is why the Holy Spirit must also confirm their teachings from within. Each of us has the ability to check the truth from within – from the Holy Spirit – if we are listening carefully to what is being taught.  It must also be consistent with what is coming from the Holy Spirit within scripture.

Just look at any tree with fruit on it, and you’ll see that even the best tree makes rotten fruit now and then. It’s also true that one bit of bad food in a pot of soup will generally spoil the whole pot.

Didn´t you find it rather strange that a majority of the American people didn´t mind Clinton sex scandal with Monica Lewinsky as long he did his job as a president. Hmmmm! What does that say about part of the orchard?

Are you a good tree, or a bad tree? Let the fruits prove it. Take an honest look and see if the things you are doing are springing from the divine seed of God within, resulting in that which is holy and godly to characterize your life, or whether they are coming from a evil heart of unbelief resulting in the practice of sin and iniquity.

“As for the seed that fell among thorns, they are the ones who have heard, but as they go along, they are choked by the anxieties and (lure of) riches and pleasures of life, and they fail to produce mature fruit.”                                                                                                Luke 8:14

Your success formula is the continuing achievement of becoming the person God wants you to be and accomplishing the goals which  God has helped you set. So simply ask God to include you in His plans.

So if you have been wanting good success and it’s been eluding you, quit wondering if you have what it takes to make it—and remember instead Who is with you and in you.

The blessing of the Lord brings [true] riches, and He adds no sorrow to it [for it comes as a blessing from God]”.       Proverbs 10:22GOD’S SUCCESS FORMULA

God’s Success Formula is designed by God in Heaven. It is not based on our abilities; it’s based on His abilities. We may be inadequate in a dozen different ways, but  with God everything is possible.

“God is with me. He will never fail me or forsake me.”       Joshua 1:5

Let us look at a case study: let us say you were lucky enough to have a prayerful mother and married to a prayerful wife. You would naturally expect to be plugged in to unmitigated success. What actually happens is that your life becomes more aligned with God’s plan.

This happened to this author: I could look back at my life and see how God had aligned most everything in my favor. God just knew that I had potential and He designed it so that I would someday be His disciple: joyful on earth and hopefully joyful in heaven.

“I thank you and I praise you for my healing, Lord Jesus.  Thank you!” Saying this small prayer is a reflection of your faith: faith that God is healing you. Continue reading GOD’S SUCCESS FORMULA

Upwardly Mobile Professional Couples yuppies Chistianity

There is not a single new parishioner from the new high-tech and high-rise estates that go to a nearby church. Not one, in at least 20,000.

The residents are yuppies, mostly young “professional” couples: upwardly mobile, double-income, childless. The idea of church attendance is not merely unpopular among them; it is inconceivable. You could tell them any monstrous thing about the Christianity and they would believe it. They also wouldn’t care.

It would not matter how we advertised: Christianity could not possibly sell. Pre-packaged haute cuisine will sell, and the most expensive gizmos. Holidays in Kenya will sell. And breaking news on Trump is lapped up eagerly. Formal religion would take prep time that they just don’t have.

Yet they do have a religion that is in a sense, Christian. The coffee shops provide a kind of ritual. The clichés they utter are from Christianity of some sort. Some of them are ready for depression, but not for religion in any of its traditional forms.

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I don’t speak with human pride

I’m confessing that I stumble –
needing God to be my guide

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not bragging of success
I’m admitting that I’ve failed
and cannot ever pay the debt

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I don’t think I know it all
I submit to my confusion
asking humbly to be taught

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not claiming to be perfect
My flaws are far too visible
but God believes I’m worth it

Understanding Spirituality

There is a feeling of connection with something larger than oneself. There is a sense that there is a deep part of a person’s life. There is no one definition of spirituality.

Some people insist on being spiritual and not religious. This could be impossible, because spirituality is the heart of religion, faith or a way of life. Spirituality nurtures religion and religion develops and forms spirituality. Spiritual people may not be part of an institutionalized religion, but they cannot help being religious. It all comes down to relationships.

yuppies Christianity

Your purpose is not more wealth.

It’s not about you. The purpose of your life is far greater than your own personal fulfillment, your peace of mind, or even your happiness. It’s far greater than your family, your career, or even your wildest dreams and ambitions. If you want to know why you were placed on this planet, you must begin with God. You were born by His purpose and for His purpose.

CHOOSE: God or Wealth

Money has always had meaning for people beyond its purchasing power. for many, money means success, power, and even moral worth. The giving of money has always established the giver as a valued member of a community.

Jesus saw this as a private act of love to be seen by God, not as public act for show and honor. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,  so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”                                               Matthew 6:3, 4

God or Wealth

Usually one is more important than the other. Wealth is the chief rival of our day to God. It is said that money is a good servant but a bad master. Personally we must master money or money masters you. Are we being choked by the wealth and riches of the world so that our faith cannot grow to maturity and bring a bountiful harvest?

God or Wealth

“The seed sown among thorns is the one, who hears the word, but then worldly anxiety and the lure of riches choke the word and it bears no fruit.”                                                                          Matthew 13:1-23.

Then the cares and anxieties of the world and distractions of the age, and the pleasure and delight and false glamor and deceitfulness of riches, and the craving and passionate desire for other things creep in and choke and suffocate the Word, and it becomes fruitless.

God or Wealth The enjoyments in themselves may be innocent, which worldly prosperity enables one to indulge. These “choke” or “smother” the word; drawing off so much of one’s attention, absorbing so much of one’s interest, and using up so much of one’s time, that only the dregs of these remain for spiritual things.”They bring no fruit to perfection” Luke 8:14: a possible promise of fruit—which never ripens. You may realize the truth too late: God expects and requires fruit.

It’s easy to think that we’ve carved our own way, worked hard, proven ourselves, and been blessed by God as a result. There’s some truth to here, but these realities need not obscure the fact that we are all in the positions of influence that God has us as a result of the generosity of others.

We’ve all had help and we know it.

Generosity is not only primarily about money. We see a need around us and we seek to do something about it.

It often seems like this type of generosity is far more common for believers in the fourth-quarter of their lives. They know that their legacy hinges on the investment they make in others. But it’s often a rare trait for Christians in the prime of their lives.

How generous are you with your valuables; the stuff the costs money or money itself? We are not talking about your time or talent. “Teach us to give and not to count the cost.” St. Ignatius of Loyola

Grace giving God or Wealth
  1. Grace (money) is entirely about God and His love. We give grace (money) to show love. “Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another”.                                                          1 John 4:11
  2. We give grace (money) to prevent conflict. “See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled.”                                                                                                                     Hebrews 12:15
  3. We give grace (money) because are called to serve one another. “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”                             1 Peter 4:10God or Wealth

Are we saying this will be easy? Nope! It won’t. In fact, giving grace (money) is hard. Giving grace requires laying down self and giving priority to others. Giving grace necessitates that we let go of our expectations and focus instead on encouraging others.

We demand grace (money) be given according to our need and yet we resist offering that same grace to others.

We cannot tell what may happen to us in this strange medley of life. But we can decide what we do with our talents and money. That is the real test of living: taking your gifts and making it a thing of worth and beauty. SAY: THE GREATEST GIFT TO GOD IS MYSELF!

“The seed sown on rich soil is the one who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and yields a hundred or sixty or thirty-fold.”                                                                          Matthew 13:23

The shock element of this parable is in the math. The few seeds that find their way to good soil produce a super-abundant harvest. Jesus delighted his audience by pronouncing boldly that this small amount of seed would produce a crop thirty, sixty, or even a hundredfold greater than what was sown! Agricultural historians estimate that this farming method never yielded more than ten to fifteen percent gain.

God or Wealth                                                                                                                    1 Timothy 6:17

Real Christian generosity seems hard to come by, but when you do see it in action it can be life changing.

Unfortunately, old habits die hard. Over time we tend to hear what we want to hear and to see what we want to see. No matter how educated, talented, rich or cool you believe you are, how you treat people and money ultimately tells all. People should use their talents to make money but money should not take away people’s attention from God, your Creator.

Lord, open my eyes so that I can see again. Open my ears so that I can hear your voice. Lift my heart to you so that I can experience a grace that will produce in my life an abundance that I cannot fathom and that I will share. Let my life become good soil, ready to receive the seed and be “one who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit.”

Hare Krishna God?

Krishna is the so called God, or “Supreme Personality Universe” Followers go into the prayer room, bowing down to false idols, as there are many idols on a platform.  The view of God is basically pantheistic, meaning that they believe God is all and in all. For Hare Krishnas, God is everything and everything is God.

Hare Krishna

They will always believe themselves above all other, on a special pedestal thinking they are the only ones destined for Godhead and everyone else are doomed.

The “monotheism” of Hare Krishna is a little muddled, however, as Sri Krishna has an “eternal consort” named Srimati Radharani; together, Krishna and Radharani comprise the “Divine Couple.”

The belief in reincarnation is explained as one’s works, good and bad, are measured and judged after death. If one’s deeds are good, he continues to be reincarnated into higher life forms; if his deeds are bad, he will become a lower life form. One can cease the cycles of rebirth and realize his oneness with Krishna.

The goal of the Hare Krishna is to reach “Krishna consciousness,” a kind of enlightenment, so that man is ultimately identical to God. This is an old lie dating back to the Garden of Eden: “You will be as God” (Genesis 3:5).

They believe that by spiritual austerity, by chanting, by rising early, and purifying yourself, that gradually you can evolve to a platform where you are completely free from material desire. “I don’t believe that anybody’s come to that platform,” observed one follower. In fact, you have feelings of guilt and remorse that you can’t always be on this platform, and psychologically you start to berate yourself.

They get you to the point where they don’t have any self-worth anymore. The only thing that is worth is serving Krishna (god): being a robot for God.

Cult Phenomenon

The cult phenomenon always come all wrapped in a nice looking ‘package’ and sweetened with one form of bait or another only to sap one’s essence as well as their pocketbook. The purpose of all these cults  is to defuse and distract. For those living in the temple, it is a true cult. (If you do not live in the Temple, you are considered a Householder and can live your life as you see fit, which is a vast difference.)

Here is a summary of the main criticism of Hare Krishna (HK) or ISKCON:

1/. Disengaged

Hare Krishna or ISKCON followers become disengaged with social issues. This is unhealthy. One must engage in society and interact with all levels of society to help serve others who are suffering in our world.

2/. Isolation

Sooner or later they will encourage members/devotees to disassociate with ‘outsiders’. This includes members of your own family. Members are  completely wrapped up in HK, in every spare moment; all under the guise of ‘Good Association’. This is NOT healthy and this should ring alarm bells.

Here is a typical lesson: “Don’t try to love people individually; it’s like trying to water the leaves on a tree. If you want to water the leaves of a tree you water the root. You don’t water each individual leaf. Instead, love Krishna. He’s the root. When you love Krishna, automatically you will love everybody.” You see how it all logically fits together, and how this can be real deceptive?

3/. Sleep deprivation

Sleep and sufficient amounts of it is healthy! Sleep deprivation is a classic mind control technique.  They are allowed only 6 hours of sleep a night.  They kept you weak and overworked, then they created a semi-hypnotic state with the song and dancing and then the chanting.  The argument that one hour sleep taken at different times is equivalent to two hours is not scientifically proven at all.

4/. Insulated information

Organizers telling you Do not listen to any other information other than what we are telling you and only absorb our material.” This should ring alarm bells.

5/. Austerity & Charity

They say in their writing that 50% of devotee’s wages should go to them. Who can afford that level of tithing. Nothing is allowed to get funded to a high position from grass roots level; unless it has been first instigated by organizers.  In the end the Hare Krishna cult is actually a brainwashing, money making machine for a few who profit from creating a prophet. The hidden agenda is to pour in world resources and money for India and to prosper its “gurus”.

6/. Positioning

They tend to position themselves in inner city locations, where there are lots of young influential people and/or drug and alcoholism dependent people. These people need a way to escape materialistic society, or escape religion.

7/. Hooks

The Hare Krishnas come with a convenient solution to this materialistic mess with lots of smiles, yummy grub and with a bit of music and dancing thrown in: come and party with the HKs!

Not to mention their hypnotic mantra, which gives you a nice ‘loved up’ feeling to act as pain killer against modern day living all under the guise of transcendental spirituality?

8/. Fishing

They target students and addicts, anyone needing someone to lean on; they attract the most lost, confused, and needy people. Many of these people could not function in the real world and were attracted to this group as a way to hide from reality. They latch on to people who show a tad of enthusiasm. They tempt you with ‘free’ books to mind control you.

For sure they are de-stressed; but they are completely pacified. Just like in Huxley’s “Brave New World” scenario. Happy pacified servants of the system along with their finances!

They also attract people who like to feed off others and they are attracted to large groups of people to feed from.

In the late sixties during the hippie days, it was like a love community; the idea was just to go out on the street and just to sing and dance and chant and to distribute the literature, ask for donations, give out food, love-everyone kind of thing, and family type of atmosphere.

That changed very drastically. The community gets this absolute order from the guru, which is as good as having an order from God, to go out and sell the books in order to raise money. They worked on the principal that the end justifies the means, which opens up a whole host of questionable money making techniques.

Then, in 1977, Swami Bhaktivedanta dies and eleven of his most high-ranking disciples take over. They want all the people in their zones to be people who accept them as pure and perfect gurus. Opps! We now observe a lot of in-house bickering and jealousy.

You’ve died! Now what?

What happens to your life after death? The belief in reincarnation is explained as one’s works: if one’s deeds are good, one continues to be reincarnated into higher life forms; if his deeds are bad, one will become a lower life form. One can cease the cycles of rebirth and realize his oneness with Krishna, the godhead.

The goal of the Hare Krishna is to reach “Krishna consciousness,” a kind of enlightenment, so that man is ultimately identical to God.

Come Again?

Reincarnation is either true or it is not true. It cannot be that for one person it is true and for another it is false.

Hindus believe that there is no “evil,” apart from the failings of human conscience, and Satan doesn’t exist. Nowhere does one mention the possibility of repentance or forgiveness.

Believers in reincarnation are left only with tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow, a constant returning until they “complete their life plans.”  It tends toward moral laxity because no matter how bad someone is in this life, he gets another shot… and another… and another!  If people have many different lives to lead, then they can play around a lot more and be a lot more experimental about how they will conduct themselves morally.

The human physical brain has no memory of past lives. We don’t have anything to improve on in that first life because we haven’t had a life yet….have we?  I can learn from my mistakes only if I remember them, but there is no continuity of memory.

Is Reincarnation Biblical?

Jesus taught about Judgment and Heaven and Hell. The Bible clearly teaches that righteous people will NEVER suffer torment because they have a confident hope of IMMORTALITY, and that the wicked will suffer in a fire that NEVER goes out: “(He) will gather the wheat into His garner; but the chaff He will burn with fire unquenchable.”                                                                                         Luke 3:17

When “the single course of our earthly life” is completed, we shall not return to other earthly lives: “It is appointed for men to die once.” There is no “reincarnation” after death in the Bible:  “Just as it is appointed that human beings die once, and after this the judgment.”                                                                                               Hebrews 9:27

Sikhism Reincarnation Biblical

It is also contradicted by our Lord Himself: “You are from below, I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world.”                                                                                                                                            John 8:23

“Be ready, for the Son of man is coming at an hour you do not expect” Matthew 24:44 loses not only its effectiveness, but its essential meaning.

Is there a particular reason you think God needs to create us to preexist before our lives here on earth?  If every soul had once pre-existed with God, then Christ wasn’t anything special to have come from God.

What divine  authority on reincarnation claims this? That could just be made up:”I don’t like the idea of Hell so I’m going to choose not to believe in it.” What they see is truly in the eyes of the beholder.

A Distinctive Human Soul

Human Soul Sikhism

It fails to make the essential distinction between men and animals. Human beings alone are created in the image and likeness of God; and therefore, possess rational and spiritual souls: a human person is a body/soul composite.

Consider a person alleged to have reincarnated; would the person have been himself or someone else, or partly himself and partly someone else? Of course, either alternative is illogical. A human person is a UNIQUE INDIVIDUAL BEING with a spiritual soul and a material body.

It is the distinctive human soul that is the foundation of his unique dignity. It is the reason why we humans possess “certain unalienable rights” as our founding fathers rightly said in our Declaration of Independence. Reincarnation either reduces men to the level of animals, or raises animals to the level of humans with “rights” with spiritual souls. Does that make any sense? I believe it only to be wishful thinking.

Reincarnation only signals “the desire to escape the consequences of one’s life choices and modern stress.” The belief in reincarnation expresses the human “inexpressible longing to live forever.”

Why is this Extremely Dangerous?

How opposite is this to our Lord’s teaching in the form of his words to the “rich man”, when God said to him, “Fool! This night your soul is required of you… So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”                                                                       Luke 12:20-21

What if you descend into what you might call hell: a descent into each person’s customized human misery, ignorance, and darkness of not-knowing, which would seem like a miserable eternity.

Hare Krishna Pascal's Wager

Pascal’s Wager appeals to the instinct for self-preservation, the desire to be happy and not unhappy. Suppose a winning sweepstakes ticket is worth a million dollars, and there are only two tickets left. You know that one of them is the winning ticket, while the other is worth nothing, and you are allowed to buy only one of the two tickets, at random. Would it be a good investment to spend a dollar on the good chance of winning a million?

It is therefore the height of folly not to “bet” on HEAVEN or possible HELL, even if you have no certainty, no proof, no guarantee that your bet will win. Reincarnation is a terrible bet. It gives you no chance of winning the prize: HEAVEN. Heaven is our true destiny, but the choice is ours.

We are like ships that need to get home. The ship of life is moving along the waters of time, and there comes a point of no return, when our fuel runs out, when it is too late. And there comes a time when there are no more tomorrows. Saying “maybe” and “perhaps tomorrow” cannot continue indefinitely because life does not continue indefinitely.

You are already committed [embarked]. We are not outside observers of life, but participants. You must wager. There is no choice.

Let us weigh up the gain and the loss involved in calling heads that HEAVEN exists. Let us assess the two cases: if you win, you win everything: if you lose, you lose nothing. Do not hesitate then: wager that HEAVEN does exist.

You should be much more afraid of being mistaken and then finding out that Christianity is true than of being mistaken in believing it to be true. If you believe too much, you neither win nor lose eternal happiness. But if you believe too little, you risk losing everything.

Is this an old lie dating back to the Garden of Eden: “You will be as God”? Genesis 3:5

They are taught to believe that the Bible is the Word of God: their guru taught them “Yes, Bible is Word of God, Bhagavad Gita is also Word of God.” The Bible says we should not bow down to idols. Yahweh alone is the God that created the heavens, and all the gods of the nations are idols. “For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the Lord made the heavens.” Psalm 96:5

The Second Commandment says, “Thou shalt not create any graven images or bow down and worship them.” Exodus 20:3-5.  But how can that be, since the God of the Bible disassociates himself from any graven image, and they worship God in a graven image? It’s completely incompatible.

Since only pure devotees are saved, nobody has been saved except for them. They’re the only pure devotees! Is that the mercy of God that only five people in the line of gurus out of billions get saved? Does that sound logical?”

Deprogramming is successful once followers have admitted they have been deceived by their leaders and the group, which, with sufficient coercion, can invariably be accomplished. Even after a person has thus “broken,” the deprogrammers explain, he or she will “float.” That is, any contact with other members of the cult may trigger a return to the group. Such floating, they warn their clients, can continue for years.

It’s hard to explain the depth of seriousness that is to someone who believes HK. With the grace of God and prayers all is possible.

The Mouse’s Search for the Cat

The unproved assumption of this very common mountain analogy is that the roads go up, not down; that man makes the roads, not God; that religion is man’s search for God, not God’s search for man.  C. S. Lewis says this sounds like “the mouse’s search for the cat”.

Hare Krishna

Christianity is not a system of man’s search for God but a story of God’s search for man.  True religion is not like a cloud of incense wafting up from special spirits into the nostrils of a waiting God, but like a Father’s hand thrust downward to rescue the fallen.

Hare Krishna

The Word of God: came to us from the Bible

In the beginning God made from nothing the heavens and the earth.”                                                                                                           Genesis 1:1

“He made from one blood all nations who live on the earth. He set the times and places where they should live. They were to look for God. Then they might feel after Him and find Him because He is not far from each one of us. It is in Him that we live and move and keep on living.”                                                                                    Acts 17:26-28

“The heavens are telling of the greatness of God and the great open spaces above show the work of His hands.”             Psalm 19:1

”Lord, You have been the place of comfort for all people of all time. Before the mountains were born, before You gave birth to the earth and the world, forever and ever, You are God.” Psalm 90:1, 2

“The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’”                   Psalm 14:1

Life after Death

“See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and vain deceit, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.”                                                                                                                    Colossians 2:8

One should not accept philosophy of mere speculation and imagination, but of the modest, laborious investigation of facts.

Vain Deceit is, that which is vain and empty, and has no solid foundation, and even deceitful and delusional.

Christianity is not a philosophy, but a life-not knowledge of abstract principles, but a personal knowledge of faith and love of God in Christ.

Many Christians have been given the gift of healing and deliverance to be able to deliver away evil spirits influencing  non-Christians, which cause depression, addictions and illness through all forms of stress.  This healing and deliverance is successful only in the Name of Jesus Christ:

Jesus is alive today! He heals today (through His followers) and in many cases it is realized immediately. How else can you explain the explosion of Christianity, the world’s largest religion, on earth: 2.2 billion adherents, nearly a third (31 percent) of all 6.9 billion people on Earth.

Christians know and feel His Presence; they communicate with Him personally; their prayers are always answered.

This author has been given the Gift of Healing only because he is a Christian Lay Missionary who travels usually two to three places every year. On his last trip to Columbia he successfully transferred his Gift to five different Spanish translators, who were able to heal as he did. He has healed Muslims to their great surprise. He also delivers away evil spirits along with their healing. All those involved in the healing actually feel a complete physical  sense of peace that is unmistakable.

When God heals in this way, He is giving a message to those being healed for a change of heart even without one’s faith. In His wisdom,, He knows faith will be developed. Dreams or visions often accompany this experience especially among non-Christians.

Most people learn their morality from their environment, from their parents, or from their peers. We are good people because it makes us feel good. We all are confronted with the desire to be a good person and do good things even without religion. But why is God Hiding?

You usually learn a basic understanding that hurting others and not helping where you can is a self-defeating proposition that discourages other people from helping you and isolates you from your social groups.

“Atheism started to ruin my life.”

Patrick Meagher, the author of Why God Is Hiding writes: “I made the biggest blunder of my life … I gave up; I stopped looking; I stopped asking. It was a mistake I would pay for, for 10 years.”

“It was the turning away from God: it was a terrible mistake that turned my life story into a tragedy. I eventually stopped talking to God. That was replaced by painfully over-analyzing. I withdrew from my friends, wasted a lot of time, pondered atheism and became pathetically self-centered, unhappy and suicidal. In the end, my life was completely and utterly meaningless.”

You too may feel that God doesn’t care about you: that you have fallen through the cracks.

Let’s begin with God.

You can’t get something from nothing. A watch needs a watchmaker. A design needs a designer. Further, it can be argued that things of this world are too complex to be accidents. You certainly can’t get order from chaos.

If God created everything, then who created God? God is called the “First Cause” of all things. This “First Cause” of life exists outside of time and space that was created when the universe was first created. We call this the spiritual or supernatural world.

How can a non-thing exist outside of space? That is easy: we know that thought exists. Brain surgeons that expose the brain will never find a thought. Thoughts do not occupy space. Similarly the spiritual or supernatural do not occupy space.

The question, “who created God?” is not new.   It was best answered 800 years ago by Thomas Aquinas., who argued that this “First Cause” must exist outside of the universe, outside of time, outside of space.  A cause of things in time requires us to then ask, what caused time?  For that matter, what caused space?  What caused sound?  What caused light? What caused the Big Bang?  Aquinas would say the Big Bang was caused by the “First Cause” of all things. A series of any causes must be eventually traced back to an uncaused cause. The “First Cause” gave us time and space and everything in it.  Aquinas called God the “First Cause” of all things.

And at the beginning of every series of causes, is something outside of that series of causes.  You can’t get a first in a series of causes that simply springs from nothing. The “First Cause” of life, the universe and everything must exist outside of time and space that was created when our universe first appeared.  This means there must be another realm of existence.  Some people call it the spiritual or supernatural world.

If there is no first cause, then the universe is like a railroad train moving without an engine: each car follows each other But there is no engine to pull the first car and the whole train.  That would be impossible, of course.  But that is what the universe would be like if there is no first cause: impossible.

Atheists argue that a living thing will by chance add itself a new feature and eventually create a new type of living thing. This is based purely on wishful thinking. Not once have any cells evolved and improved upon itself. Accidents simply don’t make order from chaos.

Even the simplest microscopic organisms like a cell will never change because every part of the organism is necessary for the whole. Think of a mouse trap with one of its parts missing: you need all the parts in order to work. The DNA, of a single cell, which stores all the information and direction of the cell, has an amazing equivalent of one gigabyte of information. You can see that organisms are too complex to be accidents

Please don’t argue that anything can happen given enough time. Mathematicians know the law of probability would guarantee that the likelihood of a monkey typing one English word that is 12 letters long on a computer keyboard is one in 1000 million years.

Science simply doesn’t have all the answers, but science does point in the direction of a designer who is wildly creative. If science can’t answer the “who or what” created it all, what can? This is where theology comes in: it is the study of the concept of God. Science may take things apart to see how they work, while theology puts things together to explain what it all means. So when science is dumb, theology picks up the slack.

Have you ever heard of Pascal’s Wager?

Pascal's Wager

If you bet your life that there is God and there is God, when you die you have gained everything. Yet, if you bet our life that there is no God, and there is, then when you die you lose everything. Wouldn’t it be wiser to bet on God than to hope for nothing and realize that you’ve lost everything?  This thinking is the same reason why people always buy fire insurance—just in case!

There is another way of looking at this: what if a million dollar lottery could be won by one of two tickets. You are allowed to buy only one ticket and there is a 50%-50% chance of winning. Wouldn’t it be wise to buy the second ticket to guarantee to win a million dollars (heaven)?

Why Is God Hiding?

Hiding God

Actually there is just enough evidence for those who truly wish to seek God. In the same way, there is just enough uncertainty for those who wish not to believe and be willfully blind.

Think about it: if God stopped answering prayers or God stop making strong impression on believers, everyone would soon give up on Him. That hasn’t happened. Similarly, if your parents would stop caring for you, you would simply run away from home. That won’t happen. God is still active otherwise the billion of Christians would stop believing.

Most world religions agree that God can be experienced in contemplating Him:”Be still and Know that I am God” Psalm 46. One of the problems in recognizing God is that we are too occupied to think about God, which means that God isn’t hiding. We are – behind all our “stuff”. We can’t see Him; we can’t touch Him, but we contemplate Him

Why so many atheists?

It’s a life style decision. Today we are a society of comfort seekers – not God seekers. We just want what we want: money, power, good food, PlayStation, the sofa or a sports channel. Most often it is sex (there are 24 million pornographic sites on the Internet). In contrast, God teaches a healthy dose of self-control and celebrates sex as a sacred act between husband and wife to create new life.

Atheists wish for the most unlikely of outcomes because they don’t want there to be a God. We are worried that if there is a God, what will He expect me to do and what does He want from me?

Your unknown God does not require anything from you, while the Christian God will make demands on our behavior. God gets in the way. This irritates a lot of people.

There are only three ways to experience God. We can reason His existence using our strength of mind and “inner light” to follow the most likely pathway. The world is so fantastically wonderfully created that something wonderful must be behind it If the sun were any closer to the earth, we would all burn up, and, if the sun moved further away, we would freeze to death. This alone is enough evidence that God did it. These sorts of odds of life favor a miracle.

The second way is to find God in created things of the world. It was Plato (427 BC- 347 BC) that said that beauty is a path to God. This leads us to a sense of awe: how big and great the world is! Without this beauty, we would find ourselves in spiritual desert. Beauty has the effect of touching our sense of wonder every time.

Do you not think that our over use of the Internet and television interferes with our appreciation of true beauty? Our world view now sees and desires only what is material. We wish to experience a glimpse of God we need to look for beauty and allow ourselves to be in awe and wonder of it all.

The third way is through a supernatural God-experience event like a wave energy explained by Patrick Meagher in his book. He recalls a life changing miracle in his life that completely changed his mind. He talked to God and said, “You have to show me!” I’ve been waiting for Your bus for three years. You’re the one that is late. I’m ready to go.” During that evening, he was very expectant. He was awoken by the silent noise of the mind thinking about God and a rush of waves of energy from head to toe. It was exhilarating. It happened two more times that night and continued at least once a day for more than a year. He learned that this was a mystical experience that other people feel – not just saints. He received the gift of faith in the process.

The absence of faith in God makes everything meaningless. T.S. Eliot reversed the common saying, “Seeing is believing.” Instead he said the believing is seeing. Seeing what? Without God, nothing may be beautiful, or true, or good.

God has designed us with a hole in our hearts and we try to fill it with something: sports, drugs, alcohol, and gossip. God designed us so that the only thing that will really satisfy this yearning in our heart is God Himself. That is why man is naturally religious and is drawn to God. If he doesn’t worship God, he will find something else to worship.

So what are your choices?

Religion Choices

There is much truth in many religions but when they differ they cannot all be right.

Christians believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jews are still waiting for the Son of God to appear. Islam sees God as an impersonal master; it reduces Jesus as only a prophet, and never encourages any scientific or theological inquiry with no freedom to leave.

Other religions are further apart in belief. Buddhism doesn’t believe in God. Buddhists seek to deny pain by denying one’s will or desire through contemplation to reach a place of nirvana or nothingness. Hindus believe in many gods, as well as in reincarnation. They believe we are rewarded in the next cycle of life for our current behavior. Behave well and you can come to this life in great wealth. Behave badly, and you can come back to this life as a dog or worse.

The Christian religion is base on a historical event: the life and death and resurrection from the dead of Jesus Christ living in Israel, Who performed many miracles. The Bible’s first four books of the New Testament: Matthew, Mark Luke and John are filled with stories of miracles and evidence of Jesus Christ’s supernatural nature.

Is Jesus For Real?

Jesus Christ likeness

The belief that the Greek philosophers, Plato, Aristotle, and Socrates existed is base on their writings and by what other people wrote about them. There is more evidence that Jesus Christ walked the earth than there is of all three philosophers combined.

The real clincher in the Christian story is that those who believe Jesus and do as He asks discovers that they can develop a personal relationship with Him. We find that Jesus is crazier in love with us than we can imagine. He loves us so much that He doesn’t want us to stay this way. He wants more for us and  he wants us to read more of His Word, the Bible.

So God, So What?

Wouldn’t you like to join the following group of people? They teach that it is best to treat others in the same way that you would want them to treat you. In fact, these people try to put others first and they make a point of looking out for other people’s needs. The founder of this group teaches by example. His leadership is one of encouragement, kindness, courage, self-control, wisdom, honesty, and understanding. He wants His followers to be leaders too. They are encouraged to study and be industrious. Surveys show that these people are the happiest, more creative and prosperous people on earth. They are also the most generous. In the Western World, they are responsible for creating universities, social welfare systems, hospitals, democracy and a free market. Members are always free to leave.

Gandhi Christianity

The best arguments against Christianity are Christians. Unfortunately, there are some Christians whose ideas are superficial. Some believe that their sickness was a manifestation of sin. Some will even claim that God will provide, but will quit a job and retire to a sofa and television. These so called Christians will never think of sharing the work load while receiving handouts.

Let’s talk about the recent priest and pastor sex abuse scandals: a tragedy! We don’t condemn all pastors or priests because of the acts of a few bad apples. In the same way we don’t say that all police are corrupt because of the actions of a few. The real reason is that we live in a time obsessed with sex. It has affected our entire culture.

Two Choices

Hiding from GodYOU HAVE TWO CHOICES: Indicate your YES honestly.
God is a superior mind that created the universe.   The world was created by chance.
An intelligent Designer created life.   An accident happened to create life
A higher Power determined our beginning.   We just got really lucky.
Our universe was guided in its formation.   We are here against all odds.
The world’s beauty points to intelligent design.   Beauty is what anyone says it is.
We are children of God   We are grown up human bodies
We have a reason to live and hope in death.   We live for no particular reason.
There is a right and a wrong.   Some people can have a different set of values as criminals have and that’s okay.
Truth is absolute and we choose what is right.   Truth is relative: it can be true for one person and not true for another.
